Batman Vs Superman Research Paper
There has always been a debate over whether Batman or Superman is better. While each character
has their strengths and their shortcomings, both of those play into their public appeal.
Batman has no superhuman powers but he does have other abilities that set him apart. He has great
interrogation skills, including torture and traditional skills, which allow him to get any information
that he wants. He is also in peak physical shape and has tremendous strength so he can keep up with
the villains that he is fighting and physically overpower them. Batman also is a master at fighting
and weapons making him have the upper hand when fighting villains ("Batman"). His main
weakness, however, is that he is restricted to human powers to fight criminals. Batman's main form
of transportation is the batmobile, an all black car with a lot of equipment on it. Some of Batman's
enemies include The Joker, The Riddler, Harley Quinn, Two Face, and The Penguin ("Batman vs
Superman"). The fact that Batman does not have any superhuman powers make him more appealing
to the public. They see a superhero that is like them and it is very inspiring for them. If the public
can relate to a particular superhero, then they will be more likely to support that character. However,
his normality can work to his disadvantage as well. It is less interesting to watch movies or read
stories about a normal human who fights crime. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has superhuman strength, speed, breath, vision, and smell. He also has heat and x–ray vision, he
can fly, and he is immune to most everything("Superman's Powers and Weaknesses"). Unlike
Batman, Superman was not born on Earth. Instead, he was born on Krypton, an alien planet. This
also develops Superman's one weakness, Kryptonite. Some of Superman's enemies are Lex Luther,
Brainiac, Toy Man, Metallo, and Doomsday ("Batman vs

College Admissions Essay: Imagination Vs. Knowledge
Have you ever imaged a world where you can scream for help and Batman would show up and save
you? Or Clark Kent would take off his glasses and become Superman? Somewhere you can walk the
streets and feel safe knowing someone was watching over you day or night because it was the duty
they chose to take on but also because they sought to protect the place they loved. One of the
smartest man in the world once said "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For
knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire
world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." Albert Einstein This quote has great value
as It identifies my past, present and future. Many of you will ask how someone can choose
imagination over knowledge, however I grew up believing that heroes lived in comic books and they

As a child, I always imaged a world where people wouldn't look at my shoes and clothe and base
their opinion on what they see because as many say " you can't judge a book by its cover" My mom

wanted to change. I was the only child in my neighborhood with original comics, books and action
figures as many had replicas made in my country. Back then i thought nothing can be better than
having something someone else wanted and it made me selfish it made me believe that having nice

of all how I became selfish, but you won't understand unless I explain how I went from being a child

Personal Narrative: The Zombie Apocalypse
The zombie apocalypse had come hard and fast, taking the world and its inhabitants by storm. I
would like to say biggest worry had been for those around me, for the future, and how I would
survive. That hadn't been the case, however. My biggest concern had steamed from needing a
weapon. Too many weapons were easily broken or needed more than just what it came with. It was a
hard to choose, a choice that could very well affect my life. It was strange, you know? I had always
had a fear of the zombie apocalypse, even when people went on and on about how it couldn't exist.
Maybe that paranoia was what helped me become so prepared. When the living dead had struck at
me for the first time I had been surprised with how well I took it. I only threw

DC Comicss Influence On Popular Culture
BOOM! POW! ZAP! When these phrases are heard or read, comics are most likely the things that
come to mind. Made popular by television and the selling of comics in general, franchises like DC
Comics have risen to the top in modern day popular culture. Many people, however, are not aware
of how much of a social impact they have had. The DC Comics franchise has been present for a very
long time, and within this period of time has had a great impact on society; evolving with the world
around it, and influencing popular culture with its use of technology inspired by real scientific
advances and its vernacular.

When describing an intellectual, the term "Brainiac" may be used. What is little known about this
term is its true origins. Brainiac was the super intelligent villain and enemy of Superman in the
Action Comics series. Brainiac was first introduced in 1938, and the term was first recorded in print
outside of the comics in 1982. Another more obvious example of DC Comics' influence on
colloquial phrases is the term Kryptonite. As many know, kryptonite is a glowing green mineral
from the planet of Krypton, and is the weakness of Superman. People may use the term when
talking about someone's weakness. Kryptonite is somewhat like the modern day Achilles' heel. Apart
from influencing common terminology, technological advancements have influenced tools used by
the superheroes in DC Comics. Wonder Woman was created by psychologist and advocate for
women's potentials, William Moulton Marston. One of Wonder Woman's well known tools is her
Lasso of Truth, which compels anyone who is caught in it to tell the truth. As a psychologist,
Marston studied the relation between emotions and blood pressure. His studies led to the creation of
the Systolic Blood Pressure test, which was used as a component in the modern day

Characters In The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club brings many types of peoples, and many types of personalities together. I
personally think I relate to all of them, not completely because they all have characteristics that I
think I also have. John is this bad kid who does and says whatever he wants to do. Claire is the
pristine goodie goodie. Allison is this strange girl who is considered to be a basket case. Andrew is
the jock whose main concern is westing. Brian is a depressed brainiac. Firstly, I relate to John
because he doesn't care what people think of him, and I typically don't try to listen to what people
say about me. John does whatever he wants and says whatever he wants to, and most of the time it
gets him in trouble. I sort of relate to that in a way because I do what I want to most of the time, but
usually I make sure what I say and do keeps me out of trouble. ... Show more content on

I don't consider myself a goodie goodie, but I am not know to stay out of trouble. Another character
that I relate to is Allison. Allison is a strange high school student who is always on the outside and is
weird. I consider myself to be weird when I am around certain people. I do not act how Allison acts
in school, because I think I would be to afraid to be made fun of. The fourth character I relate to is
Andrew, the jock. Andrew is a wrestler and is always getting into fights with people at school. I
personally love volleyball and basketball. I do not relate to him in the fact that I do not get into
fights. I feel if I did get into fight I would relate to him more. The final character person I relate to is
Brian, the depressed brainiac. One reason I relate to Brian is that I consider myself smart. I do good
in all my classes and I find myself enjoying school. The part were I don't relate to Brian is with his
depression. I consider myself a happy person who wouldn't consider suicide, which in the movie

The Truman Show Research Paper
In classic Disney fashion, the cast of High School Musical sings, "If you wanna be cool. Follow one
simple rule. Don't mess with the flow, no no. Stick to the status quo," and "You know the world can
see us in a way that's different than who we are...We're breaking free!" If you want to be cool,
should you stick to the status quo or break free? In Kenny Ortega's live–action film, High School
Musical, the main characters, Troy and Gabriella, struggle breaking the school's status quo because
they are demolishing the age–old cliques and bringing together the jocks, brainiacs, and theater
geeks. The central theme of this movie encourages viewers to be themselves and stand up for those
they care about, friends or significant others, no matter their differences. This theme parallels the
issue in Peter Weir's film, The Truman Show, where an adult man fights the flow of society in order
to discover reality. His society turns out to be a technologically designed town with a scripted

Comparing Beowulf And The Invincible Superman
Hero, is a word that can be distinguished so in many ways. When people think of a "hero" they
imagine the military, comic book characters, or someone who has greatly affected their life. While
reading Beowulf people can realize why he was a hero to the Geats and Danes. From the beginning
of the epic Beowulf shows the characteristics of generosity, loyalty, and bravery representing all the
qualifications of a hero during the 6th century. "Although originally untitled, it was later named after
the Scandinavian hero Beowulf, whose exploits and character offer its connecting theme", (Beowulf
Encyclopedia Britannica) 1,500 years later anyone who has heard this epic still views Beowulf as a
hero. This created courage over the people knowing someone ... Show more content on

Since the creation of "The Invincible Superman"in 1938 he still remains to be one of the best and
most well–known heroes."Telling their sorrow, telling stories /Of their dead King and his greatness,
his glory" (831–834).Beowulf has died, showing how he is mortal and able to die. Superman is not,
he is invincible––indestructible from any and everything. Another huge difference between the two
heroes is Beowulf is a human from earth. While Superman is inhuman and was exiled from the
planet Krypton. After the battle with Grendel Beowulf must swim to the bottom of a murky lake to
take the life of the one who took his men's lives, Grendel's Mother. Similarly, Superman must travel
to other planets and other galaxies to help those in need of him. As a child, Superman is sent away
from the planet of Krypton, to the town of Smallville,Kansas where he then realizes all his
supernatural powers. Superman defends Metropolis against disaster but also flies into outer space to
fight off Brainiac and save a city from his own planet. Many times, he makes the trip to other
universes to help those in distress. This is a resemblance of how both men are able to use their
remarkable abilities to better the lives of

Is Lex Luthor A Hero Or The Real Villain?
For example, when superman defeated super villains he put them in a rehabilitation program that
included neurosurgery to make them productive workers. This is similar to Stalin when he would
send people to Gulags when they did not believe in his ideals. I created the anti–rightest campaign
where many people were rallied up and taken to learning camps.
Kant: You never really explained why Lex Luthor is the real villain!
Mao: I was getting there Kant. Lex Luthor is clearly the real villain because he wasn't actually
fighting for the good of the American people but more for the praise and satisfaction of outsmarting
Superman and reaching his demise. The fact that he was a capitalist instead of a communist just
really baffles me too. What Superman did fail on was not attacking the United States when Brainiac
told him too. If Superman just forgot about his ideals and invaded America then the whole would
would have been communist just how the domino effect predicted. ... Show more content on

Superman believes that if you have the means and the power to help humanity and not further

Darwin: Don't you think that Superman let the power get to his head a little, and made him forget
about his ideals?
Kant: Yes! Superman followed the categorical imperative up until he started worrying about Luthor
and making the United States communist. He then started enjoying other hobbies and did not answer
to a few cries for help. Superman forgot that the reason why he even took the throne was to make
the world better and save people and instead worried about Luthor and communism.

The Devildogs Quotes With Page Numbers
As I read through the beginning of the book, I was continuously vexed by how careless Julio and
Romiette behaved around gangs. By analyzing the pair's' actions, we can infer that they don't see
The Devildogs as a serious threat. This excerpt is a magnificent example of that. This passage
describes how Julio and Romiette respond to a potentially dangerous situation with careless actions.
The duo is stared down by potentially dangerous gang members, and they reply by loudly dancing
on the table. Not only would common sense tell them this is not a good idea, but also the fact that
Julio moved away from Texas to escape gangs. You would think that these combined factors would
encourage Romiette and especially Julio to take gangs as a serious threat. ... Show more content on

The plot to High School Musical is that the male main character, Troy, meets the female main
character, Gabriella, at a New Years party. During the holiday break, Gabrielle moves to Troy's
school district, and they see each other in the hall when school starts again. Troy and Gabriella are
thrilled, but there's a catch. Troy is a jock, who plays baseball, and Gabriella is a brainiac, who's

The Stereotypes Of Teenagers In Pop Culture
Alcohol, drugs, and sex: this is the "recipe" for a typical teenager in pop culture. Stereotypes of high
school students appear in countless movies, books, and television shows. Based on media sources, a
prevalent opinion of teenagers is that they are extremely rebellious, selfish, and irresponsible.
Society has become used to a negative image of adolescents; many just ignore how teenagers
actually act. Despite the fact that many consider these visual representations of high schoolers are
true, only a few of these representations are correct. However, there may be more variables
involved. For example, these young adults may be facing stressful decisions or handling immense
family situations. Although each individual high school exhibits unique characteristics, high school
students can be split into three distinct classifications: brainiacs, jocks, and underachievers. ... Show

waste little time. Brainiacs also thrive on responsibility. Being the president of multiple school
organizations and turning in homework days ahead of the due date are a few examples of their traits.
Many call these pupils "goodie–two–shoes" because they rarely break a rule, receive a detention, or

Why Should We Adopt An English Name
At the start of class, the first item on the to–do checklist of an instructor is to obtain an overall sum
of who is present and who isn't. A share of those names are Asian Americans who will have an
English name prearranged or will request a nickname that they favor, which will undoubtedly be an
English name in several circumstances. Once questioned as to why the individual has/prefers an
English name the answer is typically their authentic name is 'too challenging' to pronounce.
However, many will offer to study the individual's real Asian name if they desire to use it, yet these
students still resist and wish to occupy an English name, even when the name is considerably
simplistic to recall nevertheless they refuse to adopt it! Consequently, this further proposes that there
are additional explanations beyond the pronunciation concerns. Pressure to conform and assimilate
to Western–like standards is a common setback for the majority of Asian Americans to date. English

many tried to verbally attack the wolf in his decision of eating the pigs. Nevertheless, you're right,
nobody should take accountability because "wolves [decide to] eat cute animals" (Source B). I'm

Personal Narrative: The Results Of Try-Outs
The results of try–outs were being posted on the school's website. I skimmed the name of every
name on the list: twice, three times, four. Ctrl F: "Starks". One result. "Justin Starks". These results
were... devastating. Humiliating. I trained and ran for months in preparation. Not only for me to not
make the team, but to be beaten by my own twin brother. There was nothing I can do. I failed.
I never thought of myself as an athlete when I was younger. I was the "brainiac". I got 100s with
ease. I was the guy people came to when they had trouble with their homework. School was easy.
When I tried, I never failed. Even if I didn't try, the worst thing to happen would be a B+. So when

feeling to do better. I had two options: I could either let this one event define me as a person; or, I

The Breakfast Club Essay
"The Breakfast Club" is a film that is well–know to be a movie that explains stereotypes and societal
standards. This classic movie exemplifies group dynamic in society. It does this by portraying
distinct stereotypes, varying from the so–called "princess" all the way to the so–called "criminal." At
the start of the film, each member in the group is completely different and separate. They were
definitely considered an out–group, which is a group of people that don't identify with one another.
Throughout the movie, they realize they share similarities and begin to identify with each other as
the breakfast club. They become an in–group. The group identity of each student changes from
seeing everyone as completely different, to seeing what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is unpopular, a loner, rebellious, eccentric. Claire Standish portrays the "popular/princess"
stereotype. She wears a lot of makeup, designer clothes, and has perfect hair. She is popular, rich,
and fashionable. She enjoys shopping and gossiping. The teachers in the film are very different as
well. Mr. Vernon is a rude, child–hating teacher. He assigned the students to write an essay basically
about what they each did wrong and to know not do it again. They did not want to do the essay
because they didn't feel like they needed to write it to know they did wrong and weren't going to do
it again. By giving that assignment, he proves that he just sees them for their stereotypes and the
mistakes they made. Carl the Janitor, on the other hand, is a relatively cool adult figure. Carl sees
the students for what they are. After John mocked him for his job, he told them how he knows
everything around the school, and that he is able to see everything how it really is. He, then, proved
it by telling them that the clock was 20 minutes fast (which none of them knew). He encoded some
respect from the group.
A clique is a group of people, with shared interests or other features in common, who spend time
together. Cliques often spend large amounts of time together, and don't associate with other people.
A person can move from one clique to another if they find another clique that better

Fantasy League Book Themes
Essay
Fantasy League, by Mike Lupica, is a realistic fiction novel about a young boy named Charlie
Gaines who helps the owner of a professional football team find needed players. Charlie Gaines is a
7th grader who is a backup linebacker for his school football team and a genius when it comes to
fantasy football and trivia. He talks to the owner of the LA Bulldogs, a fictional NFL team, and
suggests various players to sign, earning him fame and the team a chance to make it to the playoffs
for the first time in franchise history. The theme of Fantasy League, which is that things are not
always as they appear, is demonstrated and illustrated by the characters, the plot, and the setting in
the novel.

The setting of the novel is in Los Angeles in a number of places, including a professional and a
school football field, a school, and multiple houses. This shows that extraordinary and unusual
things can happen anywhere, even in the most common places such as school and people's homes.
(Lupica) Another detail this portrays is that in LA, the football team is not very good and doesn't
win a lot of games. Throughout the story, in the setting of LA, things seem bleak for the Bulldogs, as
they are every year, but the team still keep going and turns out to be a playoff caliber team. (Lupica

fame, but this time, that is not the case. Charlie Gaines is not the type of character or person who is
generally seen living in Hollywood, one who wants fame and can't get enough of it once he's got it.
He is in the spotlight in the novel, and can't wait to change that, asking for advice on how to stop
receiving attention and stopping his social media posts. (Lupica 131) The theme of Mike Lupica's

The 80's cult classic film, The Breakfast Club, was written and directed by John Hughes. This teen

that follow it. By having a character from each clique, such as the tough guy, the jock, the insecure
and timid one who hides behind her clothes, prom queen and the Brainiac, it allows the audience

Case Analysis On Brainiac University Law School Essay
Case #1 Case one is based on Nesbitt, who graduated from Brainiac University Law School. "He
applied for a job at Dewey, Getem and Howe", and was granted an interview. Dillan Dewey, who
was part of the interviewing process, was so impressed with Nesbitt's overall interview that at the
end they shook hands and he stated "We are very impressed with you young man! How would you

Nesbitt was leaving the office, a conversation concerning "the upcoming provincial election." The
firm was closely connected to the People's Party, and thus did a vast amount of work for that party.
Where as Nesbitt, "was never one to shrink from political debate", supported the Freedom Party.
Which lead to the men became immersed in a "political discussion". Leaving the office, Nesbitt was
concerned about where he now stood with the law firm after their heated discussion. One week after
the interview he received a letter informing him that although he impressed them, the could not hire
him because of his "strong affiliation with the Freedom party". Also, stating that if they were to hire
him they "would stand to lose upwards of 50% of our valued clientele, should we begin courting ties
with the Freedom Party." The first, and most obvious course of action that Nesbitt is likely to try and
take would be to sue for discrimination. They denied him a job that he had an extremely successful

Peer Pressure In The Breakfast Club
By definition, peer pressure is described as social pressure by members of one's peer group to take a
certain action, adopt certain values, or otherwise confirm in order to be accepted. Considering peer
pressure is something that everyone experiences, whether they wish to admit it or not, there are
numerous definitions for it; especially since it affects everyone so differently.
Examples of this are everywhere, like movies or books. In the movie The Breakfast Club there's a
character for every clique you'd usually see in a high school, which is where the setting of the movie
takes place. You have the jock, the brainiac, the cool one, the daddy's girl and the loser. In a certain
scene, they all get emotionally close to each other and talked ... Show more content on

In this movie, an overprotective dad takes it a little too far when he finds out that his son's first day
of school is a field trip to the drop off. He swims after his son, Nemo, to get him and keep him safe.
However, when Marlin, Nemo's dad, gets there he freaks out completely. After arguing with his son
about it, Nemo swims off and is under "the butt" which is known to us as a boat. Tempting his
father, Nemo touched "the butt" and does that because his friends didn't think he had it in him.
Nemo was peer pressured into touching the butt by his friends which caused him to be captured in
the end. Peer pressure doesn't end in happy endings for most people. Influence from one's peer
group is another definition of peer pressure. A person's group will always influence them but that's
why people always say choose your friends carefully. Most people deal with peer pressure by giving
into it or just not listening to their peers at all and doing their own thing.
Peer pressure is a bit of a problem more because of things like social media and the generation and
how they're being taught to go about it. It affects people differently every time it happens, which
goes along with the reason there are so many different definitions for it according to different
people. There's a quote that goes "It's Better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong
direction." This goes along with the entire essay and some definitions because our elders

Descriptive Essay About Six Flags
"I don't wanna die!", the lady next to me screamed. My already scared mind was now even more
afraid. It had all started when I wanted to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was Summer 2015 and
we were in Los Angeles at the time. After much begging with my parents, we finally decided to go
to Six Flags. As we pulled into the parking lot, I was amazed at how tall the rides were. Then I felt
my heart sink as I started to feel nervous. We bought our tickets and walked to the Lex Luthor's
Drop of Doom ride. My dad said that it would be a good ride to get us into the mood. As we walked
to the line, I could feel the heat of the black asphalt reflecting back onto me. It was over 30 degrees
and there was no nearby shade. The sun was shining in my eyes, but we eventually made it to the
lineup. The line was located in a building resembling a shed. The moment we stepped in, I could
feel the air conditioning cooling my face. This was it, only half an hour worth of waiting in line left.
Eventually, we started to move in the line and soon we got to the point where the line exits the shed
and is outside. We were almost there. I could feel it! Then people started pushing against us. I heard
murmur in the crowds. People were leaving the line. I asked one of the Six Flags employees what
was happening. She told me that the ride had broken down and they were waiting to repair it. My
heart started racing and my mind began to panic. The threat of the ride breaking down on me and

I'm going to review the book Dead End in Norvelt which takes place in Norvelt, a small town in
Pennsylvania. Because Norvelt is such a quaint, little neighborhood the first theme I came across
was community. I believe the reason community is a main theme is because when this book took
place 52 years ago everyone always helped each other out. The main character, Jack lives in
Norvelt. "It's good that people around this town know how to help out in different ways," his mom
said. I liked that the author was very witty. I liked that novel was very entertaining and also a bit
educational. And that story was very descriptive and his choice of words kind of created a vivid
picture in my mind. I didn't like the constant jumping around from one subject to the next, although
it does show that Jack has a wandering mind. Like most books, the first chapter is where you are ...

Comparison Essay Comparing Beowulf And Superman
Many comics and epic poems tell of times that people need heroes. In Beowulf and the Superman
comics both hero's fill essential needs within their respective societies. In the following paragraphs,
I will be speaking on the gifts each hero has to handle enemies, their motives and what they mean to
their societies and the effects they have on them. First, both heroes have great gifts that they use in
their respective stories. Beowulf has superior strength to all men and most monsters and
superhuman endurance shown by actions such as surviving underwater for hours and still being able
to fight. Beowulf's powers fits the type of world he lives in with there being monsters not capable of
destroying the planet or kingdoms but rather destroying small villages. Beowulf with his
aforementioned powers managed to kill Grendel and the dragon but also died in the process to the
poison of the dragon. Superman has superhuman strength, speed, endurance, can fly, see through
walls, shoot lasers from his eyes, freeze foes with his breath and many more abilities.Superman's

Beowulf's motives are not too clear but he acts based on the needs of people. This is demonstrated in
his decisions to fight Grendel and the dragon especially when he chose to fight Grendel who was a

and most importantly him vowing to not kill. The decision not to kill is key to his character because
he could of killed all of his enemies but due to his chose many of his enemies return and he
continues to fight them and not kill them. If Superman was to kill his foes there would be less
threats but he would no longer be Superman who is a sign of good and hope for

The Breakfast Club Analysis
The Breakfast Club is considered a classic movie from the 1980's. Throughout the movie different
topics are presented such as stereotypes, education, family, status, cliques, and socialization. This
film obtains major sociological value, and can be analyzed in many different ways. How the
characters are portrayed at the beginning of the film, may switch at the end. This movie is a stretch
of the basic high school detention, but can also be relatable. The film is about a group of students
who all have to spend their saturday in detention. The breakfast club exemplifies group dynamic in
society because there is a brainiac, a jock, a criminal, a princess, a basket case, and a nerd. The five
students in detention are all very different, with opposing backgrounds causing them to start as an
outgroup. As the students get to know each other, and realize they all have similar issues, they grow
a bond and become what we know as an ingroup. At the beginning of the movie you may have had
an opinion on each one of the characters, but I assure you they were not who you expected them to
be at the end. The shy girl who keeps to herself, and goes by the name Allison could be stereotyped
as insane and a basket case, however with a little makeup can be seen in a whole new light. The
jock, Andy could be inferred as a mean, muscular man, who will beat you up, but at the end of the
movie he turns out he can be a kind hearted man. Claire identified as a rich preppy, privileged girl,
could be stereotyped as being snobby and standoffish, but she changes greatly at the end into a
kindhearted young woman. Brian the brainiac can be stereotyped as a nerd who gets good grades,
one who even has a fake ID with the sole intention to vote. Brian turns out to be just like the rest, as
he too is stressed about school and has an aspect of his life he is unsatisfied with. Brian had even
gone as far as committing a suicide attempt. He too, desires to have friends. Lastly Bender a
hardcore, jerk was stereotyped as a low life criminal who has nothing going for himself, he turns out
to be genuine man with a heart. These five students however all share the same assignment given by

This is a prime example of why a lot of people don't do it. It is a very rigorous sport that requires a
very special type of person to participate in. What kind of people does Cross Country attract? If you
asked me, I would say that Cross Country is the toughest, geekiest sport there is. Essentially, Cross
Country is a chaotic sport for chaotic people. Although the reputation of Cross Country might be
viewed as just a bunch of scrawny, skinny, awkward kids unable to handle the difficulty of "real"
sports like football or sewing, I say with confidence that there is not any other physical activity out
there that is as rewarding and painful as Cross Country! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It's a sport for the strange kids of society and loners who don't mind being trapped inside their own
heads. It is for those people that can endure the pains of racing. It is also for those that can withstand
the mental stress of thinking, "Why am I doing this?". During races, there are no dancers with
pompoms, no tailgating fans at the finish line, no way of using your semi–athletic abilities to land a
hot homecoming date. It is a sport for those that search for unrecognized, unappreciated
accomplishments. At the end of the day, Cross Country runners don't need fancy equipment, a huge
fan base, or a scoreboard to feel good about what they have done. They just reflect on what they
have done and accomplished and know that they their hard work will pay

Example Of Allegories
There once was a family that lived on a farm and they began to notice strange things but figured out
secrets as they progressed. This film has tons of little hints and secrets. The little girl named Bo has a
big vocabulary and predicts the future. The uncle Merril was a great baseball player. The dad
Graham decided to get of church and Morgan was a brainiac and unlocks mysteries. This movie is
an allegory that leads you to one thing but means something else . This also was a good movie
because it kept me on the edge to unlock new hints . In this movie there's a family of four that live
on the farm and begin to notice strange things . The characters in this film are Graham , Merrill ,
Morgan , and Bo . Graham is the Morgan and Bo's dad but Merrill

  • 5. Batman Vs Superman Research Paper There has always been a debate over whether Batman or Superman is better. While each character has their strengths and their shortcomings, both of those play into their public appeal. Batman has no superhuman powers but he does have other abilities that set him apart. He has great interrogation skills, including torture and traditional skills, which allow him to get any information that he wants. He is also in peak physical shape and has tremendous strength so he can keep up with the villains that he is fighting and physically overpower them. Batman also is a master at fighting and weapons making him have the upper hand when fighting villains ("Batman"). His main weakness, however, is that he is restricted to human powers to fight criminals. Batman's main form of transportation is the batmobile, an all black car with a lot of equipment on it. Some of Batman's enemies include The Joker, The Riddler, Harley Quinn, Two Face, and The Penguin ("Batman vs Superman"). The fact that Batman does not have any superhuman powers make him more appealing to the public. They see a superhero that is like them and it is very inspiring for them. If the public can relate to a particular superhero, then they will be more likely to support that character. However, his normality can work to his disadvantage as well. It is less interesting to watch movies or read stories about a normal human who fights crime. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Or Clark Kent would take off his glasses and become Superman? Somewhere you can walk the streets and feel safe knowing someone was watching over you day or night because it was the duty they chose to take on but also because they sought to protect the place they loved. One of the smartest man in the world once said "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." I would like to say biggest worry had been for those around me, for the future, and how I would survive. That hadn't been the case, however. My biggest concern had steamed from needing a weapon. Too many weapons were easily broken or needed more than just what it came with. It was a hard to choose, a choice that could very well affect my life. It was strange, you know? I had always had a fear of the zombie apocalypse, even when people went on and on about how it couldn't exist. Maybe that paranoia was what helped me become so prepared. • 17. DC Comicss Influence On Popular Culture BOOM! POW! ZAP! When these phrases are heard or read, comics are most likely the things that come to mind. Made popular by television and the selling of comics in general, franchises like DC Comics have risen to the top in modern day popular culture. Many people, however, are not aware of how much of a social impact they have had. The DC Comics franchise has been present for a very long time, and within this period of time has had a great impact on society; evolving with the world around it, and influencing popular culture with its use of technology inspired by real scientific advances and its vernacular. Malcolm Wheeler–Nicholson was the man who founded National Allied Publications. He was considered a pioneer of the American comic book, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When describing an intellectual, the term "Brainiac" may be used. What is little known about this term is its true origins. Brainiac was the super intelligent villain and enemy of Superman in the Action Comics series. Brainiac was first introduced in 1938, and the term was first recorded in print outside of the comics in 1982. Another more obvious example of DC Comics' influence on colloquial phrases is the term Kryptonite. As many know, kryptonite is a glowing green mineral from the planet of Krypton, and is the weakness of Superman. People may use the term when talking about someone's weakness. Kryptonite is somewhat like the modern day Achilles' heel. Apart from influencing common terminology, technological advancements have influenced tools used by the superheroes in DC Comics. Wonder Woman was created by psychologist and advocate for women's potentials, William Moulton Marston. One of Wonder Woman's well known tools is her Lasso of Truth, which compels anyone who is caught in it to tell the truth. As a psychologist, Marston studied the relation between emotions and blood pressure. I personally think I relate to all of them, not completely because they all have characteristics that I think I also have. John is this bad kid who does and says whatever he wants to do. Claire is the pristine goodie goodie. Allison is this strange girl who is considered to be a basket case. Andrew is the jock whose main concern is westing. Brian is a depressed brainiac. Firstly, I relate to John because he doesn't care what people think of him, and I typically don't try to listen to what people say about me. John does whatever he wants and says whatever he wants to, and most of the time it gets him in trouble. I sort of relate to that in a way because I do what I want to most of the time, but usually I make sure what I say and do keeps me out of trouble. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I do not act how Allison acts in school, because I think I would be to afraid to be made fun of. The fourth character I relate to is Andrew, the jock. Andrew is a wrestler and is always getting into fights with people at school. I personally love volleyball and basketball. I do not relate to him in the fact that I do not get into fights. I feel if I did get into fight I would relate to him more. The final character person I relate to is Brian, the depressed brainiac. One reason I relate to Brian is that I consider myself smart. • 25. The Truman Show Research Paper In classic Disney fashion, the cast of High School Musical sings, "If you wanna be cool. Follow one simple rule. Don't mess with the flow, no no. Stick to the status quo," and "You know the world can see us in a way that's different than who we are...We're breaking free!" If you want to be cool, should you stick to the status quo or break free? In Kenny Ortega's live–action film, High School Musical, the main characters, Troy and Gabriella, struggle breaking the school's status quo because they are demolishing the age–old cliques and bringing together the jocks, brainiacs, and theater geeks. The central theme of this movie encourages viewers to be themselves and stand up for those they care about, friends or significant others, no matter their differences. This theme parallels the issue in Peter Weir's film, The Truman Show, where an adult man fights the flow of society in order to discover reality. When people think of a "hero" they imagine the military, comic book characters, or someone who has greatly affected their life. While reading Beowulf people can realize why he was a hero to the Geats and Danes. From the beginning of the epic Beowulf shows the characteristics of generosity, loyalty, and bravery representing all the qualifications of a hero during the 6th century. "Although originally untitled, it was later named after the Scandinavian hero Beowulf, whose exploits and character offer its connecting theme", (Beowulf Encyclopedia Britannica) 1,500 years later anyone who has heard this epic still views Beowulf as a hero. While Superman is inhuman and was exiled from the planet Krypton. After the battle with Grendel Beowulf must swim to the bottom of a murky lake to take the life of the one who took his men's lives, Grendel's Mother. For example, when superman defeated super villains he put them in a rehabilitation program that included neurosurgery to make them productive workers. This is similar to Stalin when he would send people to Gulags when they did not believe in his ideals. I created the anti–rightest campaign where many people were rallied up and taken to learning camps. Kant: You never really explained why Lex Luthor is the real villain! Mao: I was getting there Kant. Lex Luthor is clearly the real villain because he wasn't actually fighting for the good of the American people but more for the praise and satisfaction of outsmarting Superman and reaching his demise. The fact that he was a capitalist instead of a communist just really baffles me too. What Superman did fail on was not attacking the United States when Brainiac told him too. By analyzing the pair's' actions, we can infer that they don't see The Devildogs as a serious threat. This excerpt is a magnificent example of that. This passage describes how Julio and Romiette respond to a potentially dangerous situation with careless actions. The duo is stared down by potentially dangerous gang members, and they reply by loudly dancing on the table. Not only would common sense tell them this is not a good idea, but also the fact that Julio moved away from Texas to escape gangs. You would think that these combined factors would encourage Romiette and especially Julio to take gangs as a serious threat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The plot to High School Musical is that the male main character, Troy, meets the female main character, Gabriella, at a New Years party. Troy is a jock, who plays baseball, and Gabriella is a brainiac, who's trying to start fresh. Together they fall in love and find a mutual love of theater. To know Beethoven, one would say the genius was revolutionary, a true extremist. However, he was a troubled man, a musical brainiac who lost his hearing late in life. With this said, Beethoven never heard his last pieces, including Bagatelle. Later, Bagatelle was given its nickname, Fur Elise. Why? Well, that's the mystery. Some scholars believe Fur Elise or For Elise is actually For Therese. Therese von Brunswick [Therese Malfatti?] was the woman thought to have stolen Beethoven's heart. These films are ones that are re–leased throughout the years with much more excitement to them and that have a very similar fan base as when it first came out. The Breakfast Club is one that is enjoyed by various generations of audiences due to the entertainment and the teenage stereotypes that follow it. By having a character from each clique, such as the tough guy, the jock, the insecure and timid one who hides behind her clothes, prom queen and the Brainiac, it allows the audience and fan base to immediately relate to them. The fan base is able to connect to the film because the concept is still relatable in today's society. Even though the movie was not as popular when it was first released back in the days, overtime fans started to appreciate the great works and cultural influence brought by Hughes. • 113. Case Analysis On Brainiac University Law School Essay Case #1 Case one is based on Nesbitt, who graduated from Brainiac University Law School. "He applied for a job at Dewey, Getem and Howe", and was granted an interview. Dillan Dewey, who was part of the interviewing process, was so impressed with Nesbitt's overall interview that at the end they shook hands and he stated "We are very impressed with you young man! How would you like a position with our firm?" To which he replies "I'd be honored!". After the interview, when Nesbitt was leaving the office, a conversation concerning "the upcoming provincial election." The firm was closely connected to the People's Party, and thus did a vast amount of work for that party. Where as Nesbitt, "was never one to shrink from political debate", supported the Freedom Party. Which lead to the men became immersed in a "political discussion". Leaving the office, Nesbitt was concerned about where he now stood with the law firm after their heated discussion. One week after the interview he received a letter informing him that although he impressed them, the could not hire him because of his "strong affiliation with the Freedom party". Also, stating that if they were to hire him they "would stand to lose upwards of 50% of our valued clientele, should we begin courting ties with the Freedom Party." The first, and most obvious course of action that Nesbitt is likely to try and take would be to sue for discrimination. Unfortunately, he was the only one who kept me company, since my mom was always working. Recently, a family moved in down the street. We decided to pay them a friendly visit. My mom, being the sweet woman she was, had time to make cookies and bring them to our new neighbors. The lady who answered the door was named Mrs.Kwon. She had escaped with her daughter from the violence and terror in Vietnam. Mrs.Kwon invited us in. I noticed a girl about my age, with coffee colored hair, and a lilting voice. • 121. Peer Pressure In The Breakfast Club By definition, peer pressure is described as social pressure by members of one's peer group to take a certain action, adopt certain values, or otherwise confirm in order to be accepted. Considering peer pressure is something that everyone experiences, whether they wish to admit it or not, there are numerous definitions for it; especially since it affects everyone so differently. Examples of this are everywhere, like movies or books. In the movie The Breakfast Club there's a character for every clique you'd usually see in a high school, which is where the setting of the movie takes place. You have the jock, the brainiac, the cool one, the daddy's girl and the loser. In a certain scene, they all get emotionally close to each other and talked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this movie, an overprotective dad takes it a little too far when he finds out that his son's first day of school is a field trip to the drop off. He swims after his son, Nemo, to get him and keep him safe. However, when Marlin, Nemo's dad, gets there he freaks out completely. After arguing with his son about it, Nemo swims off and is under "the butt" which is known to us as a boat. Tempting his father, Nemo touched "the butt" and does that because his friends didn't think he had it in him. Nemo was peer pressured into touching the butt by his friends which caused him to be captured in the end. Peer pressure doesn't end in happy endings for most people. Influence from one's peer group is another definition of peer pressure. A person's group will always influence them but that's why people always say choose your friends carefully. Most people deal with peer pressure by giving into it or just not listening to their peers at all and doing their own thing. Peer pressure is a bit of a problem more because of things like social media and the generation and how they're being taught to go about it. It affects people differently every time it happens, which goes along with the reason there are so many different definitions for it according to different people. There's a quote that goes "It's Better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction." This goes along with the entire essay and some definitions because our elders ... It had all started when I wanted to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was Summer 2015 and we were in Los Angeles at the time. After much begging with my parents, we finally decided to go to Six Flags. As we pulled into the parking lot, I was amazed at how tall the rides were. Then I felt my heart sink as I started to feel nervous. We bought our tickets and walked to the Lex Luthor's Drop of Doom ride. My dad said that it would be a good ride to get us into the mood. As we walked to the line, I could feel the heat of the black asphalt reflecting back onto me. It was over 30 degrees and there was no nearby shade. The sun was shining in my eyes, but we eventually made it to the lineup. The line was located in a building resembling a shed. The moment we stepped in, I could feel the air conditioning cooling my face. This was it, only half an hour worth of waiting in line left. Eventually, we started to move in the line and soon we got to the point where the line exits the shed and is outside. We were almost there. I could feel it! Then people started pushing against us. I heard murmur in the crowds. People were leaving the line. I asked one of the Six Flags employees what was happening. She told me that the ride had broken down and they were waiting to repair it. Because Norvelt is such a quaint, little neighborhood the first theme I came across was community. I believe the reason community is a main theme is because when this book took place 52 years ago everyone always helped each other out. The main character, Jack lives in Norvelt. "It's good that people around this town know how to help out in different ways," his mom said. I liked that the author was very witty. I liked that novel was very entertaining and also a bit educational. And that story was very descriptive and his choice of words kind of created a vivid picture in my mind. I didn't like the constant jumping around from one subject to the next, although it does show that Jack has a wandering mind. Like most books, the first chapter is where you are ... In Beowulf and the Superman comics both hero's fill essential needs within their respective societies. In the following paragraphs, I will be speaking on the gifts each hero has to handle enemies, their motives and what they mean to their societies and the effects they have on them. First, both heroes have great gifts that they use in their respective stories. Beowulf has superior strength to all men and most monsters and superhuman endurance shown by actions such as surviving underwater for hours and still being able to fight. Beowulf's powers fits the type of world he lives in with there being monsters not capable of destroying the planet or kingdoms but rather destroying small villages. Beowulf with his aforementioned powers managed to kill Grendel and the dragon but also died in the process to the poison of the dragon. Superman has superhuman strength, speed, endurance, can fly, see through walls, shoot lasers from his eyes, freeze foes with his breath and many more abilities.Superman's powers fits his world due to having many enemies who can destroy the planet along with major cities. • 146. The Breakfast Club Analysis The Breakfast Club is considered a classic movie from the 1980's. Throughout the movie different topics are presented such as stereotypes, education, family, status, cliques, and socialization. This film obtains major sociological value, and can be analyzed in many different ways. How the characters are portrayed at the beginning of the film, may switch at the end. This movie is a stretch of the basic high school detention, but can also be relatable. The film is about a group of students who all have to spend their saturday in detention. The breakfast club exemplifies group dynamic in society because there is a brainiac, a jock, a criminal, a princess, a basket case, and a nerd. The five students in detention are all very different, with opposing backgrounds causing them to start as an outgroup. As the students get to know each other, and realize they all have similar issues, they grow a bond and become what we know as an ingroup. At the beginning of the movie you may have had an opinion on each one of the characters, but I assure you they were not who you expected them to be at the end. The shy girl who keeps to herself, and goes by the name Allison could be stereotyped as insane and a basket case, however with a little makeup can be seen in a whole new light. The jock, Andy could be inferred as a mean, muscular man, who will beat you up, but at the end of the movie he turns out he can be a kind hearted man. Claire identified as a rich preppy, privileged girl, could be stereotyped as being snobby and standoffish, but she changes greatly at the end into a kindhearted young woman. Brian the brainiac can be stereotyped as a nerd who gets good grades, one who even has a fake ID with the sole intention to vote. Brian turns out to be just like the rest, as he too is stressed about school and has an aspect of his life he is unsatisfied with. Brian had even gone as far as committing a suicide attempt. He too, desires to have friends. Lastly Bender a hardcore, jerk was stereotyped as a low life criminal who has nothing going for himself, he turns out to be genuine man with a heart. This is a prime example of why a lot of people don't do it. It is a very rigorous sport that requires a very special type of person to participate in. What kind of people does Cross Country attract?
