Hello everyone! My name is Jeffrey Morris, this is Karl Henderson, and Javier Arreguin and we are team TrackIt! We will be presenting to you all who our customer base is. But before we do that let me remind you the idea behind our app. TrackIt is a Windows Phone 8 application that allows users to have their graded information pulled from a database and receive constant updates on what their projected grade is for the class.
So who is our customer? Well we are specifying our user base to the University of Michigan: College of Engineering Students strictly because the overall goal is to extract a user’s information from Ctools and the new pilot program Canvis. For those of you who don’t know what Canvis is, it is basically Ctools with a better UI, sometimes on Ctools your gradebook is designed by specific assignments: projects, homeworks, classwork but Canvis makes this a standard thing and gives percentages between each assignment category. Some students have access to Canvis already so we are looking for students who have access to a gradebook on Ctools/Canvis. Classes such as this class will not be apart of our user base. We want students who want to know their academic progress, who want to know where they are currently standing in the class and those students who have want to know what they need to get the expected grade they want, you know the “what if” moment
By next week we will be turning in our MVP 1.0, so how are we designing it to make sure we meet our user base? Well our MVP takes on 2 out of the 4 descriptions of our customer. The first is the user will know their academic progress. After successfully inputting the amount of data they want, they will be able to press the Calculate Grade button and they will received a color coded grade (where dark green denotes excellent A-standing and red is failure F-standing). So after putting in a little bit of work the student can know where they stand. This is important because this will help in showing whether our next feature is worth keeping.
If users are willing to put in assignments and their grade for it, then we know they will be more than willing to make modifications to there grade to see what they need to get the expected grade in the class. As you can see on the slides, this user decided to modify his/her grade to figure out what if they received a B- on HW2 what would they get versus if they received a 100 what would the grade be. So for users who want to see okay what I need to get that hot A or for users who are really struggling and want to know what they need to get just to pass we got you covered.
We thank you for your time and if you have any questions please ask them now!
