WASA New Services Building Development process
1. BUILDING DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
STEPS APPLICANT WASA
Application
Application submitted with non-refundable fee ($2,500.00)
and required attachments as follows:
1. Completed application form
2. Town and Country Outline Approval
3. Topography Map
4. Location Map
5. Lotification Layout
6. Certificate of Environmental Clearance
7. Receipt for non-refundable Application Fee
Receives application and
issues reference number
Outline
Approval
Conducts Water Supply and
Wastewater feasibilities,
identifying conditions for
designs.
Issues Outline Approval.
Note: Where it is not feasible
to provide a water supply to
development a letter
indicating reasons will be
issued. Applicants will be
advised when to re-apply.
Design
Approval
Applicant submits designs as follows:
1. Four (4) copies of Water Reticulation Layout
2. Four (4) copies of Water Reticulation details
3. Four (4) copies of Wastewater Disposal System (for
treatment plants – detailed designs and calculation
are required)
4. Four (4) copies of Sewer Collections System design,
if applicable (layout and profile)
5. Preliminary Fire Approval (drawing and approval
letter)
6. Design submission review fee (refer to fee
schedule).
Note: Designs must be submitted on A1 size sheets (24” *
36”)
Where designs conform to
requirements a Design
Approval is issued.
Where designs do not
conform to requirements of
the Authority a Defects Letter
is issued specifying reasons
why designs cannot be
approved.
Note: Where designs are
rejected a resubmission fee is
applicable. Applicants must
make required corrections to
designs and resubmit with
applicable fee.
Inspection
and Testing
Applicant installs infrastructure as per approved designs and
submits the following:
INSPECTION
1. Inspection fees as per schedule
2. Inspection request form
INSPECTION
Inspections are conducted to
ensure water reticulation
infrastructure is installed in
2. PRESSURE TEST
1. Applicant submits pressure test fee as per schedule
2. Applicant pressures water reticulation system to
150PSI for date as indicated by WASA
METER INSPECTION
1. Applicant installs water service meters
2. Applicant submits request for meter inspection
accordance with approved
designs and using materials
required by WASA.
Note: Where installation is
not satisfactorily installed a re-
inspection fee equivalent to
initial fee will become payable
before re-inspections are
carried out
PRESSURE TEST
1. Applicant is advised
of date when
pressure test is to be
conducted
2. WASA Technician
visits site and installs
logger on water
reticulation system to
ensure there is no
pressure loss in
system (test can
either be 2 hours or
24 hours)
Note: Where pressure test
fails, Applicant must pay
another pressure test fee
before system is pressure
tested again.
METER INSPECTION
WASA Technician visits site
to inspect and test water
service meters. Once water
service meters are
satisfactorily installed
information for establishment
of accounts are recorded.
Completion
Certificate
Applicant submits payment for interconnection as per
WASA Estimate
WASA issues Completion
Certificate
