The top-ranked ideas get pitched by their “founders” to senior leadership, and any approved proposals then move on to other phases of incubation including Prototyping, Production, and Commercialization. Since its establishment in 2009, TIP has yielded the following results: 130,000 active participants from all 50 states and 52 countries More than 25,000 innovation ideas submitted Numerous patents Over $38 million invested by AT&T in viable innovation projects Return on Investment? AT&T’s not talking, but ROI is rumored to be high TIP gets employees involved in collaborative innovation and puts the venture capital model to work internally at AT&T. To date, TIP has attracted over 130,000 employee members worldwide, resulting in numerous patents and over $44 million in seed funding allocated by AT&T for viable projects.
