3. St. Petersburg Summer Palace St. Petersburg Summer Palace was one of the earliest building to be built in Saint Petersburg and it was designed by Domenico Trezzini. The Summer Palace would be Tsar Peter the Greats summer home until his death in 1725.
4. St. Petersburg Winter palace Tsar Peter the Great had the first Winter Palace built in 1711. Ten years later a second version of the Winter palace was built in 1721 and joined with the original Winter Palace constructed by Tsar Peter the Great. The Winter Palace was built for a third time reflecting the Winter Palace as shown.
5. St. Petersburg Menshikov Palace As St. Petersburg was being developed Tsar Peter the Great ordered Nobel families to establish a residence in the new capital city of St. Petersburg. One of the First Nobel families to come to St. Petersburg was the Menshikov’s who built the Menshikov Palace that would be more lavish than the Tsars Palaces.
6. St. Petersburg Marble Palace The Marble Palace was commissioned by Empress Catherine the Great for her favorite Count, Grigory Orlov. The palace was designed and built between 1768 and 1785 by the Italian-born architect Antonio Rinaldi.
