The Mock Interview module provides students
the ability to conduct and record practice
interviews. The module is ready with thousands
of pre-recorded questions which students and
advisors may choose from to build a custom
mock interview. Managers may also provide
feedback and rate each student’s performance.

main menu. There is also a
shortcut on the user's
homepage.
Managers may assign or limit
access per student with the

located in the student’s account.

A Recommended Interview is a
group of interview questions
created by the Career Services
Office. These may be targeted to
different majors, degree levels or
year in school.

group of interview questions
created by the user.

Creating an Interview
Name the Interview or copy questions from an existing Mock Interview.

View the list of categories.
There are several questions
related to each category.
Click the arrow to open the
section and view the related
questions.
Choosing a Question

Click the Add button to include
the question in the interview.
Each question has a max time
to respond. The duration will
show the total time of the
entire mock interview.
Managers may edit the max
time to answer each question.

Scroll over the added
question to edit.
Click the red X to remove or
the blue arrows to reorder.

Review the title, number of questions and
duration of the mock interview.
Change the Interviewer if desired. The system
will choose one by default, although some
questions might be given by a another
interviewer.
Click the Start Your Mock Interview button to
begin immediately. Once the interview is
taken, editing the questions will be no longer
available.
Click the Save and Take Interview Later
button to take at a later time.

First check the Audio and Video
Settings. Allow the site to exert the
user’s webcam and microphone.
Adjust any settings necessary
during the test. After testing,
practice a question.

Read the introduction for recording the interview response. The user will
have 30 seconds to prepare after each question plays. The response time
will be limited but the user can stop recording to end sooner. Read the
introduction for preparing for the practice question.

highlight when the question is
being asked. The question will
display on the top and the
question number will show at the

The responder’s window will
highlight during the response.
The timer shows at the top of
the screen. If the response is
complete before time is up, click
the Stop Recording Answer
button.

After the practice question, replay the response, retry, go back to the settings or
begin the mock interview. Read the introduction before the interview begins. Once
the interview has started there is no pause or stop.

Answer all interview questions. There is no feature to retry a single response or
go back once the interview has started. After completing all the questions,
review the interview, request feedback or exit.

The review section of the mock interview
allows the user to review the questions and
answers.
Users can view the answer only and repeat if
necessary.
A link of the recorded interview can be
created and shared. Users can enter a
passcode if they would like added privacy.
A request for feedback can be sent to the
Career Services Office.
If a user is unhappy with the recorded
interview, they may delete. This will not
delete the created interview questions, only
the attempt to respond. The user can retake
the same mock interview again and again.

Click the Request Feedback button to
fill out the feedback form. Enter Y/N to
receive feedback from the Career
Services Office. Enter the email
addresses to send to other recipients
and then click Submit.

out the share form. Enter a passcode
to ensure privacy. Click Save

Super User rights or the Mock Interview user right will have access to the feature.

are grouped as
pending, completed
or other. To review
an interview attempt
click on the date and
time stamp.

Rate each response
with a rating of zero to
5 stars. List any
additional comments
and save or move to
the next question and
return back to edit.

After completing feedback for
each interview question, click the
Save and Submit Feedback to
Student button. A review window
will appear with a summary of
the entire feedback given. Click
Submit Feedback or cancel to go
back and edit.

The attempted interview list shows the status and rating. The rating
on the list is an average automatically calculated of all the interview
questions rated.

of the Mock Interview once feedback has been submitted.

The Interviews main tab shows the created interviews by the career services
office, Recommended Interviews, and the interviews created by students
Student Created Interviews. To build a new Recommended Interview click
Add New.

Give the interview a name or copy from an existing. If the Mock Interview should
be limited to a group of students, select which academic fields the screening
should take place: Major, Degree Level and/or Class Level.

The Setup tab allows managers to customize the interview questions, create
and edit interviewers and manager the shared questions. The Mock Interview
module is ready with thousands of prerecorded interviews. Managers can add,
disable and edit each interview question.

To add a new question, go to
the Questions tab under Set Up
and click Add New. Type the
question, pick a category, and
upload the video file. Change
the interviewer and response
time if desired.

the Interviewers tab under Set Up
and click Add New. Type the
Name and choose the image file.

Shared Questions are a list of custom interview questions created by CSM
schools in which they allow other institutions to view and use.
To view this list go to the Shared Questions sub-tab under Set Up. If interested in
using a question, click Import to add it to the list of local questions.
To share a custom interview question, go to the Questions sub-tab under Set Up
and click the More Filters button. Choose “Yes” for the Custom filter and apply
the search. Click the Share button next to the question to share.

Manager User Rights
For Full Edition sites, staff must have the proper user rights to manage the feature.
Go to Tools | Users | within the manager account, the user may have Administrator
access, if not, the Mock Interview (Create/Edit) user right will be needed.

Students must have
the user right to use
this module.
Go to the Account tab
located under the
Main tab within the
student’s account.
Select the appropriate
rights and save.

System Settings
Review all the system settings by going to Tools | System Settings | Supplemental
Modules | Mock Interview. Change any settings necessary and Save Selections.

System Messages
Review and customize all system messages by going to Tools | Emails |
System Messages | Keyword: Mock Interview and apply the search. All
messages can be edited or disabled.

Picklists
Review all picklists. Values may be
added, renamed or deleted. Go to Tools
and Picklists to manage. Keyword any
defaulted or custom field name to find
the related picklist.

Create a report by clicking on Reporting on the left hand navigation bar. Click Add
New and choose Mock Interview for the Base Class. Select which fields you
would like in the report, then filter by Created date if needing to capture a
particular timeframe.

The module is ready with thousands of pre-recorded questions which students and advisors may choose from to build a custom mock interview. A link of the recorded interview can be created and shared. Users can enter a passcode if they would like added privacy. A request for feedback can be sent to the Career Services Office. If a user is unhappy with the recorded interview, they may delete. This will not delete the created interview questions, only the attempt to respond. To share a custom interview question, go to the Questions sub-tab under Set Up and click the More Filters button. Choose “Yes” for the Custom filter and apply the search.
