As the Native American population had been decimated by genocide and war, England looked to
African slaves to provide them with the necessary labor to harvest tobacco. Although African slaves
had the same status as that of an indentured servant, African slaves began to become more and more

protect the rights of the indentured Englishmen, and developed a social/political system based of

Physical geography:
The physical geography of China has been divided by the government into 3 major physical regions
including Eastern China (subdivided into the northeast plain, north plain, and southern hills),
Xinjiang–Mongolia, and the Tibetan highlands. These regions are diverse with snow–capped
mountains, deep river valleys, broad basins, high plateaus, rolling plains, terraced hills, sandy dunes
with many other geographic features present in myriad variations.
The land is high in altitude along the west and descends when you start moving towards the east
coast. Mountains take about 33 percent, plateaus take
26 percent and hills take 10 percent which makes up almost
70 percent of the country's land surface. Most of the country's fertile land and population are based
in lowland plains which makes up 12 percent and basins that take about 19 percent of the country,
but some of the greatest basins are filled with deserts . The country's rugged terrain presents
problems for the construction of land transportation infrastructures and requires extensive terracing
to sustain agriculture, but is conducive to the development of forestry, mineral, hydropower
resources and tourism.

Summer, characterized by its heavy rainfall, runs from July to mid–September. Average

Groundwater pollution is a prominent problem in most areas of the world. High nitrate
concentrations have been identified as one of the main culprits of groundwater pollution. Agriculture
is a primary anthropogenic source involved in the spreading and distribution of nitrates in rural
areas. China is considered one of the largest in terms of agricultural production. As the population of
China increased over time, the recycling of plant nutrients could no longer renew the loss of
nutrients from harvesting. The famine between 1960 and 1970 caused radical changes when it came
to policies about population control and large efforts were made to increase agricultural yields. This
was encouraged by increasing the application rate of chemical fertilizers, especially ones that were

over 1.3 billion people. China has over one–fifth of the world's population. It boarders thirteen
countries, some of those countries include Russia and Mongolia to the north and to the south are
Myanmar Laos and Vietnam. The climate is very diverse, with tropical climates in the south and
subarctic in the north. The lands in the west mostly consist of mountains, high plateaus, and desert.
The eastern areas have plains, deltas and hills. The highest point is Mount Everest. Mount Everest is
on the border between Tibet and Nepal. Mount Everest is also the tallest mountain in the world. The
longest river in China is the Yangtze. It forms the dividing line between north and south China. The
country divided into two regions referred to Inner China and Outer China. The Great Wall, built in
the fifteenth century to protect against a military invasion, has been the country is dividing
characteristic. While the both areas are mostly equal, 95 percent of the population lives near inner
