 Jacob Newberger is an automation engineer at Panacea
Technologies. In addition, Jacob Newberger earned his
degree in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State
University.
The university’s Department of Mechanical and Nuclear
Engineering is one of the country’s most successful and
largest engineering departments. It has more than 1,000
undergraduate students and more than 330 graduate
students. Students can study and research using leading
experimental facilities under the guidance of internationally
known faculty. In addition, the undergraduate mechanical
engineering program was ranked among the top-20
mechanical engineering programs in 2015 by “US News and
World Report.”

streamline undergraduate advising. A study by the
department revealed that undergraduate students
routinely asked faculty members questions that
resulted in the faculty members spending time to
research the answers. The questions asked could
be better answered by those with comprehensive
advising experience. So, to deal with the issues
and better serve students, all academic advising
duties are now being handled by the
Undergraduate Programs Office.
