Comedy ?
►Sentimental Comedy
Comedy that addresses itself to the spectator’s love of
goodness rather than to his sense of humour and emphasizes
the moral aspects of its characters.

3. ► Anti – Sentimental Comedy
Anti-Sentimental comedy is reaction against
sentimental comedy. The pioneer of anti sentimental comedy is
Oliver Goldsmith, who criticized the sentimental comedy in his
essay “ESSAY ON THEATRE” and “A COMPARISON BETWEEN
LAUGHING AND SENTIMENTAL COMEDY.”
