- Let’s take a look at What a Metric Ton of CO2 Looks Like If you were to build a cube to represent one metric ton of CO2, or carbon dioxide, it would measure 27 feet high by 27 feet deep. {CLICK} When filled with carbon dioxide, it would weigh 2,204 pounds, {CLICK} the same weight as 264 gallons of water. {CLICK}

That is 11 million barrels or 462 million gallons of oil. A DAY! {CLICK} Of this imported oil, almost 2 million barrels come from the Persian Gulf. {CLICK} Now, other oil fields becoming depleted, only Middle East and Central Asia are believed to have easily-accessible untapped reserves. {CLICK}
- {SAY} Here’s what is publicly available about the U.S. military’s use of fissile fuels: {CLICK} 61.7 MILLION metric tonnes of petroleum 194.47 MMt of CO2 {CLICK} 18.9 MILLION metric tonnes of natural gas {CLICK} and 4.7 MILLION metric tonnes of other petroleum-based fuels. 0.43 metric tons CO2/barrel 7.33 bbl per Mt
