2. Kids are tough on their things and by having a reader or
tablet there are no more torn or destroyed books.
E-Readers now come equipped with a Dictionary for reference.
When a child is unsure of a word they simply select the word and
the definition is brought up.
No more lost or overdue Library books. Many readers and tablets
can now hold up to a few thousand books depending on the file
size of the book.
No more heavy backpacks for students to lug around.
An e-reader or tablet helps to satisfy that gadget lust and lets
parents feel a little better about doing so, since reading is
generally considered to be a preferred activity (at least by many
parents) to playing video games (Moon, 2012).
3. They are easy to use and portable.
It has been proven that children with special needs or
learning disabilities benefit from a tablet.
Many schools across the country are purchasing iPads for
their students with special needs and learning disabilities,
and are finding that students are more motivated and more
self-confident using this technology, despite their
educational challenges (AHG Trusts, 2012).
It helps us understand children with special needs or
disabilities and offer them a tool to help with emotions
they are feeling and a voice.
4.
5. By having a Tablet students can review assignments
and take notes.
Search the internet for research needed for school a
presentations.
Students can also have class discussions and
collaborate for group projects.
Children with special needs are also using tablets to
help them communicate with others “A student with
autism can let his teacher know that he is hungry and
what he would like for lunch by using the touch
screen” (AHG Trusts, 2012).
