6. EXPERT REVIEWS
Elections and Appointment at IPCC-59
• The expert review process is done in 2 main stages (FOD and SOD)
• The review process is about 8 weeks (might be shorter if the Panel so decides)
• The scheduling of the review periods is included in the Strategic Plan (normally
avoid overlaps between reviews of different reports and major events such as
COPs)
• The drafts and review comments are made available

7. THE IPCC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

2007: IPCC was awarded
the Nobel Peace Prize
IPCC established with the funds
received (~ CHF 885,000.00)
• The aim of the IPCC Scholarship Programme is to build capacity in the understanding and
management of climate change in developing countries through providing opportunities for
young scientists from developing countries to undertake studies that would not be possible
without the intervention of the Fund

• Currently in the Seventh cycle (2023 – 2025)
• Call for applications was launched on 10th March 2023
• Formalizing the awards of 23 students
