2. The Danube Delta is a form of relief resulting from the
deposition of silt and sand, respectively, at the mouth of a
river flowing into a lake, the sea or ocean, on a gentle slope,
under lack of tides and coastal currents action and the
Danube is the second longest of the rivers of Europe (after
the Volga), the only European river that flows from west to
east. It rises in the Black Forest (Germany).
3. Delta vegetation is represented mostly by specific
vegetation wetlands (reed, rush, sedge, willow blend)
and occupies 78% of the total. Meadows covers 6% of
the delta, the willow, ash, alder, poplar, growing on
river levees being periodically flooded, and water mesh
covered by aquatic vegetation and floating, occupying
2% of the delta. There are also forests and fields Letea
Caraorman and consist of gray oak, English oak, ash,
aspen, elm, creepers.
4.
5. Delta hosts over 3,400 species of vertebrates and invertebrates,
many unique national, European and global.
Birds - monuments of nature includes white monuments
(Common and Dalmatian pelicans spoonbills, great egret or
white heron, little egret, mute swan, swan singing) and
polychrome monuments (stilt, ciocintorul, tadoma-tailed
eagle).
Fish
The Danube flows arms present are the starlet, sturgeon,
mackerels, herring, carp, catfish, northern pike. Prefer
calmer waters, carp, perch, bream, brackish environment is
populated with pike perch and mullet and flounder
depending on the salinity of the water, sheltering marine
sector acipenseridele majority (beluga, sturgeon) and
clupeidele (Danube mackerel).
6. Mammals
The number and variety are assured of higher areas generally
bypassed by water. Meet otter, mink, muskrat (precious
furs), hare, wild boar, fox, wolf, polecat, wild cat.
Sands shelter tortoises, vipers, snakes colonies.
Animals in the pictures are: Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus
crispus), sturgeon (Acipenser gĆ¼ldenstaedti), otter (Lutra
lutra).
7. Delta populationās was always rare ,semi-aquatic environment
not allowing significant densities.
In summer the population triples influx of tourists. Delta has
always been a refuge for medium original Greek, Romanian
later (dicienii, name that comes perhaps from Vicina), then
lipoveni. These populations were mixed, as illustrated
vocabulary and language spoken in the delta, particularly
fishery terms.
9. The most important lakes are found in the delta area between
Chile and Razelm arm. They are: Tatanir, Storm, Mattithiah
Merhei, Babina, Three Iezere and Bogdaproste in Ostrovul
Letea Obretin cut Sulina Channel, Gorgova, Isacova, Red,
Light Puiu and the islet of St. George and the islet Dranov
lake of the same name. Their surface does not depend only
partly Danube water level variation.
Marshes are areas permanently or almost permanently covered
with water, but it is not deep enough, so are full of reeds
and marsh vegetation.
