Delta del Danubio is located in Romania and is the largest river delta in Europe, covering over 2,700 square kilometers and home to over 1,200 plant and animal species. It is divided into three parts and inhabited by around 15,000 people, mostly fishermen, including a community of Lipovans. The delta is an important stopover for millions of migratory birds traveling from Africa, Asia, and other parts of Europe to nest there.
