PRIMARY SECTOR
They are in charge of extracting
RAW MATERIAL from nature and
providing them to MANUFACTURE
products.
Agriculture, mining, FORESTRY and
fishing are primary sector
activities.
SECONDARY SECTOR
They are in charge of
PROCEEDING raw material to
manufacture new products.
The process is done in
FACTORIES and WORKSHOPS.
TERTIARY SECTOR
They PROVIDE servicies and
products to population.
For example, doctors provide
with medical treatments.
Depedent clothing sells you
clothes.

6. AGRICULTURE
Cultivation of CROPS and the raising of
livestock that come form nature.
We use ARABLE FARMING to produce crops for
food. Two types: DRY FARMING and IRRIGATED
FARMING.
7. DRY FARMING – IRRIGATED FARMING
DRY FARMING
The crops only get water
when it rains.
Use large FIELDS to grow lots
of crops.
In Spain wheat, grapes and
olives.
IRRIGATED FARMING
Use IRRIGATION SYSTEMS to
water their crops.
Uses small fields to grow
crops.
In Spain tomatoes, beans and
melons.
8. LIVESTOCK FARMING
The raising of animals for food and non-food products such
us meat, milk and eggs are example of food products.
Wool and leather are examples of non-food products.
There are two types: extensive and intensive.
9. EXTENSIVE FARMING-INTENSIVE FARMING
EXTENSIVE FARMING
Farmers raise their
animals in large and open
fields.
They animals eat and grow
naturally in the nature.
Example: Iberian pigs.
INTENSIVE FARMING
Farmers raise their
animals in stables or
indoor PENS.
They eat animal foods
produced in factories.
Example: milk cows.
