think we are good at reading but what if
I tell you we are not.
• Reading greatly effects our ability to
learn a language.

3. Reading improves your vocabulary
• Studies have shown that reading
significantly improves peoples’
receptive vocabulary.
• Studies have also shown that the
vocabulary is the most important thing
in learning a new language.
5. Reading Improves your Grammar
• Basically your Grammar improves when
you are paying attention to what you're
reading and follow the patterns of text.
• This one enhances other skills such as
writing or speaking and its specially
important if you are trying learn English
for academic or business purposes.
7. 4 ways for improving Reading
• Here are four ways to improve the
reading :
• 1. Read and Read as much as possible
There are so many things you can read in
English such as : Books , Magazines,
Articles , Newspapers. My advice to you
read something you like.
9. 2. Check your Comprehension
• The second way to improve your reading is
check your comprehension.
• Sure you read something but how do you
know you understand it e.g., if you are
reading an academic article you can write
down the main idea of each paragraph.
Then when you have done reading you
have the summary of the entire article.
10. Comprehension
• If you are reading a story check your
comprehension by paraphrasing what
you’ve read.
• If you have difficulty paraphrasing what
you’ve read then this will show, you
probably need to reread the story.
11. 3. Read at the right speed
• The third way of improving your reading
is Read at the right speed
12. Using your finger
• Let your hand to be your guide, put
your figure on the text and move it
along as you read. This will help you to
find right speed for you.
• It will maximize your comprehension.

• The fourth and final way for improving
reading is interact and engage with the
text.
• Ask questions about what you’re
reading just like you would ask to
another person.
