programme that brings together 18 to 25-year-olds
from all backgrounds to fight poverty in overseas
and UK communities. You don’t need cash, skills
or qualifications to take part in ICS – just the
ambition to make a difference.

A development programme that tackles
poverty in some of the worlds poorest
communities by supporting small businesses
• UK government funded
• 18-25 year olds from the UK and overseas
• You don’t need cash or qualifications to take part in ICS

5. What skills do you need?
• Skills, experience or aptitude of an aspect of business,
for example sales, marketing, finance, planning or
communications – anything you can use to support
others grow their businesses.
• You don’t need a degree in business or to have started
your own company
6. Impact on the Volunteer
Specifically volunteers can expect to:
• Grow in confidence
• Become more independent and resilient
• Become more self motivated and better communication skills
• Improve their CV and employability
• Develop planning and project management skills
• Learn new problem solving skills
• Learn about other cultures and ways of life
• Have a better understanding of global issues
7. Who is ICS Entrepreneur for?
• Need to be aged between 18-25
• Be highly motivated with a can do attitude
• Be able to think on your feet and problem-solve
• Not essential but we would like to hear about any
relevant qualification or experience you might have in
the following areas: marketing, sales, communications,
business, finance, retail, market research and/or IT.
• Team Leader – There are positions available for people
aged over 23

9. What we expect
• Attend a selection day to
find out suitability for the
programme and ability to
work with others
• Each ICS volunteer must
raise a minimum of £800
as a sign of commitment.
