blood and danger.
• The girls move around their house slowly to show fear, and their
breathing is deep to support this.
• The rain heard at the beginning of the scene, as well as the
television creates a creepy, solemn effect, supported by the phone
ringing.
• The strings playing in the background get louder as the tension
builds, and laughter is heard from the tv. Strings are often used to
create a mysterious atmosphere in horror films.
• The fact that there are no opening credits used, creates an idea of
mystery and an anonymous feeling surrounding the beginning of
the film.
