Essay about A Life Changing Event
"A Life Changing Event"
There are many events that stand out in my life that were significant and helped me grow
stronger. One of these events stands out in particular to me and had the greatest impact in my life.
When I attended high school my focus was never on the academics but only on sports and having
fun with my friends. I never payed attention for more than five seconds and failed to complete any
type of work given to me. My lack of care for high school affected me on going to a four year college
, playing a sport in college, and taking remedial classes. First off when one's grades are poor it is
extremely hard to get into a four year college. I would sit in all of my forty–five minute classes
doodling, telling jokes, and just...show more content...
The thought of asking any of my teachers for letters of recommendation was not even an option
anymore because they knew my personality and work ethic. All throughout high school I was
involved in sports. I excelled in football and lacrosse throughout the four years I attended my high
school. I had no problem going home studying football plays for hours and looking to make
myself better for the next game or practice. I could recite defenses and offenses with no problem,
but give me a math problem and it was as if it was in another language. Unlike my teachers I got
along with my coaches well and they would be willing to help me get into a good school to
further my playing skills. That is in reality only about twenty five percent of what you need to get
into college. I lacked the other seventy five percent of doing at least average in academics and
being a well rounded student. I had some schools contact me about playing lacrosse at their
school but once they had heard I hadn't taken the SAT's yet and that my grades were a little above
failing their interest level dropped. I believe that I potentially threw away some opportunities that
could have really benefitted me today. Even if I would have payed attention the slightest bit I
could have easily achieved B's and C's. I had my priorities mixed up and it really came back to bite
me four years down the road. In addition to those two of the many problems a I faced another
problem arose quickly. Nearing the end of

Reflection On Life Change In My Life
We all have life changing events happen in our lives. Sometime it's just a certain moment of a
day or maybe sequence of events that happen over a few days. For me i went on i life changing 3
week journey to help find myself and discover how i want to be. I would like to introduce you to
the CLP (counselor Leadership program). Here we are trained to become better leaders, Trained to
be lifeguards, and go through i life changing experience climbing a 13,000 ft mountain we the
new brother and sister you create during the program. Within the first few hours of arriving at
CLP you already know everyone's name and hobbies and you are already starting to make
connections with these people that you just met. It wasn't easy for me to be able to put myself out
there like that. Im was very shy and timid and was always so self aware of we people might think of
me if i say the wrong thing. But i was determined to change. I was determined to be more
comfortable in my own body and to be more confident. So when it came my turn to introduce
myself to the group all i wanted to do was show that i was confident, but i didn't. I talked really
soft and was nervous and after it was my turn i was just praying no one was looking at me. All i
could think was just how much i failed, but their was one thing keeping me positive and that was
that there was nowhere to go but up. I watched for the next 30 minutes. Everyone so freely
introducing themselves and showing how confident they are in their own skin. But i soon come to
find out that almost everyone there was dealing with the same problem i was, they just didn't show it.
The next week and a half we would spend all day lifeguard training. Five hours in the classroom
and 5 hours in the water everyday. So being with the same group of people for 10 hours a day, you
tend to figure things out about people and really get to know each other. One thing you learn in
school is that one lifeguard can't do it all. It takes a team and this team are your peers and after i
figured that out i knew i was going to have to get out of my comfort zone and make friends and
communicate. It wasn't easy but nothing in life is easy. But slowly and surely i became more
comfortable and created 37 new

Everyone has that one experience that makes them look at life with a new set of eyes. My life
changing experience happened a little earlier than most. It was the summer before first grade. We
had gotten an exceptional amount of rain in the past months even though it was summer. I did not
notice, though, because summer was every six year old's favorite holiday, next to Christmas and
their birthday. My summer was supposed to be like any other but it quickly took a turn. For the best
or for the worst? That is debatable.
June 8th, 2008 was the day my whole life turned upside down. It was a hot and humid Sunday
afternoon. My blond, curly headed six year old self was taking a nap on the couch in our living
room with a huge window that looked out over our front yard. I used to love to stand at that window
during the summer and look at the bustling neighborhood. My mom and little sister were taking a
walk around the neighborhood, while my dad was in our garage tinkering with something.
Around three o'clock, my mom and sister came running into the house through the front door. This
may sound normal but my family always came in through the garage, unless we were in a hurry.
My mom woke me up while my sister repeated something that I could not decipher. It took a couple
minutes for my brain to register what she had said.
She kept repeating, "There's water in the street."
My initial thought was that it was raining. My younger self could not grasp the concept of raging
waters flowing down a suburban street. So, I jumped off the couch and ran to the giant window in
our living room. I peeked through the blinds. From what I could see the neighborhood was
completely normal. Then I saw it.
Several people from the neighborhood were standing outside on their freshly cut lawns, yelling to
each other.
My dad heard all of the ruckus so he came in and asked, "What's going on? What's all that outside?"
So, my mom turned on the tv to the news channel and sat down on the couch. One of the reporters
was standing somewhere that I recognized as the place I had lived in my whole life. Why would
they need to come to Columbus? Nothing ever happens in Columbus. I wondered.
I asked my mom, "What's going on? Why are those people here?"

Changes in Life Essay
In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different
ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the
deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you
lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to
occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it's
time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For
example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious
reasons, people will turn down the changes in life....show more content...
It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like
peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong direction. For example, I was almost peer
pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and
didn't experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are
forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not
all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the
change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky
to try to stop change and fight against it, especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was
ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason that
somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their
head. Maybe the change isn't the best change, but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't
really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the
support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting
a lot of changing to take place. With the support of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me.
When the people they care about the most, detach their change as

A life–changing experience
"Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life." – Caroline Leavitt.
My story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far–away
land, called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a
world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the
story of an eighteen–year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from
home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind
everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had
seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African–Americans
lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are
moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped,
and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me
move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by
looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which would be arising
in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in
their colors and culture so was I, in the mГ©lange

Life Changing Choice : Life Changing Choices
Life Changing Choices "What are your plans after high school?" This question is asked to seniors
more times than they can count. For a lot of students, this question is followed by the answer "I
have no idea." There are so many decisions that will change their entire life. They not only have to
choose where to live for the next several years, but they also have to decide what they want to do
with the rest of their lives. For me, this decision is very daunting. University of Findlay,
Franciscan University of Steubenville, and Wright State University are all great schools; however,
due to its many opportunities, Wright State is the best fit for me. The financial aspect of college is
a big factor in my decision of where to go. University of Findlay has the highest gross cost of tuition
and room and board at $43,040 ("Undergraduate Charges"). This number is quite daunting but the
amount of merit scholarships offered is very helpful. My brother is currently a student there, and
with the help of scholarships and living at home, he should be able to finish undergraduate school
without debt (LaFontaine, Ethan). Franciscan University of Steubenville has an annual total cost of
$34,370 ("Financial Aid & Costs"). Sadly, there are not as many scholarship opportunities at this
university. For my current ACT score and Grade Point Average, I would receive $8,000 per semester
("Student Financial Services"). Wright State University has an annual cost of $30,624 year
("Undergraduate

Life Changing Moments
"Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get." (Forrest Gump).
Experiences received throughout life are random at best and not knowing which delectable treats are
sweet, I brace myself for what may turn out to be life–changing. From these bitter and sweet
occurrences, my life constantly reshapes the way I interpret and react to similar situations that arise.
Life altering events change my behavior due to the outcome of decisions made, opportunities
missed and phone calls received. My trust in salesmen was destroyed after making a decision to buy
a used car. Shortly after purchasing a pre–owned Subaru WRX the sound children playing with metal
pans came blaring from underneath my car hood. I immediately pulled over to the side of the road
with a quick turn of the steering wheel. Calling triple AAA, I had my car towed to the closest auto
shop deemed (by an operator located in another state) professional enough to fix my car. The tow
truck dropped me off at a little blue–collar auto shop painted bright yellow. I was welcomed by a
man that had rough sandpaper hands, stunk of motor oil, and wore a name tag that read Jeff. The
mechanic's silver tongue roused my belief in his ability to take care of me and after what felt like
days the oily mechanic returned with his findings. "Well Mr. Lovato" Jeff said, "You have a lemon
on your hands because the motor is bad." In that moment, I decided to always be skeptical of the
truth as a consequence of a

Life Changing Experience 4
Our marriage began on a warm sunny day. Driving to the courthouse, I could feel my heart
pounding so hard as though it was going to beat right out of my chest. It felt like butterflies
fluttering over a breezy meadow. The closer the time got for us to say our sacred vows to each
other; my heart felt like a rose blooming endlessly. As I turned to him and the judge pronounced us
man and wife, I felt like I was on cloud nine. Our marriage is full of surprises and happiness. The
blessings of our marriage began when we were blessed with another son. We learned a true lesson
on how to be the best parents that we could be to these boys. I could tell he was scared about
being a father. He is a wonderful father to the boys; he loves to go out and shoot basketball, and
kick around a soccer ball with them in the yard. He tries to be a decent father figure in their lives.
Being able to teach the boys right from wrong is another lesson for us to learn as couple. There
are times he has to discipline them for things that they do wrong. We always do our best to work
as a team to work out our disagreements. I found for us to work as an effective team, we have to
listen to each other's perspectives and find the pros and cons to our disagreement. The present is
here, the future is to come with more blessings for our marriage. Every time I look at my husband, he
still continues to make

Life Changing Moment Ever since I can remember I spent almost ever y day at my Grandparents
house. They live right down the road from my family and me, and that is how they got the title
"Grandma and Grandpa down the road". They lived in a small house three bedrooms, one
bathroom, and a small living room with a fire place that can worm the coldest heart. And in their
back yard stood a shed filled with old farm equipment and stray cats with their kittens that I would
try to catch every day. They are now both 78 years old and sadly not very healthy. My grandpa was
diagnosed with lung cancer in October, and it changed my grandpa's life, my family's life, and my
life. I remember that October day so perfectly. I got out of class, called my...show more content...

god doesn't take the Payne family's rock away just yet, he has the most loving family and wife.

Essay on A Life Changing Experience
First day of the rest of my life, my stomach is in knots and I can't seem to do anything with my
hair. I have all my pens, papers, notebooks and other miscellaneous items stuffed into my brand
new blue book bag. My mother is down stairs on the patio drinking her morning tea watching the
world wake up. I gave my brand new shoes a quick shine, checked my hair about three more times
each time finding something new wrong. Mother yells at me from down stairs. " You're going to miss
the bus!"
The bus! I can't believe my ears. I can't show up to high school on my first day by riding the bus. I
was scared I needed my mother to drive me to school. Somehow knowing my mother was going to

The first day of high school went over with a blast. My classes were just fine and my teachers
were supreme. Everyone was just so nice and friendly. I only cried once when I couldn't find any
of my classes. The bell had rung everyone scattered off to his or her assigned rooms, everyone
except me. I was stuck in the middle of the courtyard trying to figure out the school mapping
system. Frustrated and embarrassed I broke down in tears and ran to the nearest restroom. The
day continued from that point on a happy note. I could not wait to get home to tell my mother all
about my day. As the dismissal bell rung, I hurried off to find the right bus to go home. I was
frightened that I would get on the wrong bus and end up on the other side of town. Uneasy I
asked four different people where bus 647 was parked. As I entered the bus I recognized familiar
faces of those from my junior high. Some friendly and some not so nice. I took my place in
middle of the bus and glanced out the window watching the trees and cars go by. As the bus grew
closer to my stop I became more and more giddy with excitement. I could not wait to tell my
mother about my new adventure. As soon as the bus was out of sight, I ran all the way home
with a huge smile on my face from ear to ear like a Chester cat. As I ran down the street I noticed
shattered pieces of glass all over the road and a chunk on the street lawn missing. It looked as if a
huge bull dozer rode

How Adversity Changed My Life
Throughout life, we all become acquainted with life altering experiences, some changing us for the
better, others for the worse. It is our job, as individuals, to either learn and develop in the face of
these experiences or to dismiss them without looking back. They are what shape our very character,
our foundation for the future. Without them, we'd be empty shells, individuals without any substance
to guide them. Even though I am still quite young, I've already had quite my fair share of these
experiences, and for that I am extremely thankful. Academics, community service and adversity; all
have contributed to my development in one shape or another. Without these experiences, I would not
be the self that I know myself to be. Nothing is of greater importance.
I feel as if adversity has played the greatest role in shaping my character and personality. May it be
financial instability, parental problems, or even just plain stress, they have all taught me valuable
lessons that I will cherish for years to come. My family has always had trouble, both with financial
stability and familial stability. We've never been able to do all of the things that normal families
get to do. For example, I don't remember the last time my family went on a genuine vacation, let
alone a vacation will all of us together. This also plays a role in our familial instability. We are by no
means a close–knit family: we fight every day, we never spend quality time together, and we are
always holed up in

Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay
Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or small, sadly
many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen evidently in that friend unsure of his future
after high school, or that family member who stumbles when asked what they would like to eat,
only to order the same thing they have ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to
ordering a different meal at your favorite restaurant, everyone will have that important date with
change. The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to the
door and give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it's happening, and some don't even
show up. I am one of those people, emailing that "I just can't make...show more content...
Maybe it is a new job, or the promise of seeing old friends. Moving is a perfect example of how
pain and change can equal gain. Although difficult to accept, sometimes embracing the odd variation
can be rewarding.
As a young boy, friends are made quickly, generally without any thought. A
Tonka Truck rear–ends another Tonka Truck and within two minutes of sandbox hit and runs a new
friend is made. The same cannot be said of High school. Those friends you made in elementary are
still your friends when you first enter into high school. But slowly they drift off into the abyss,
slipping into with different cliques and before you know it, you are put on the backburner. You feel
forced, worried and are fairly sure that rear–ending a grads car will not work. This is yet another
perfect example of change, that anyone that's ever been to high school has probably faced.
Accepting this sort adjustment will teach you new skills, and a lot about yourself. Making new
friends can be hard or easy, depending on how you tackle the problem. Change is simply a tool, it is
you who decides what to make with it.
As one grows up they may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more
rewarding than the last, or that big changes are essential to proper development and progression. An
obvious example of maturation is when one releases that they cannot rewrite their beginning, but
they can in fact change

LIFE CHANGING EVENTS In this essay you had the option to choose a life event that has
changed you. But I chose to give a list of events that has made me who I am instead of just one
event that changed a little part about me. This essay will show what has happened in my life for
me to be the way I am to this day. This is me. First of all there was my grade seven camp. Although
I have an unclear recollection of the camp I still remember the important bits. One thing which I
know for sure is that I never really wanted to go on the camp. The school teachers and my parents
had to force me to go. Two days before the camp started I decided to go. The big reason why I didn't

change is taking place right now and I might only realize it later on. I know that some of the

A Life–changing Experience Looking at that small building that held too many big memories, I
started reminiscing about the past and remembering every little detail. I felt very nostalgic.
Everything seemed memorable and remarkable to me: the cracks in the old building that we used
to make fun of, the old candy shop that we used to come to at night when we are too tired and too
hungry to study, the pushes and the tiny garden we used to sit at and stare at the stars, the roof
we used to sneak to in the middle of the night just wandering and talking about everything, and of
course the playground where we used to run, play, dance, laugh and cry in under the evening sky,
and even the school building and the dark classes looked nice to me. Everything held so many
memories of us. I knew that being at a boarding school would change me on so many levels, but it
never occurred to me that most of the change would be thanks to my friends, and I am going to talk
about what I learnt from each one of them. The most important thing I learnt in this school is...show

Growing up everyone argues and fights with their parents, some don't even have functioning
relationships with their parents. However for or me, my dad wasn't really around and my mother

that's where my life began to change. One can only imagine how that must feel and as much as I

Life Changing Experience In Life
For many, a life changing moment comes in the form of a tragedy or a hard–earned revelation. Mine
came in the form of a five–year–old girl named Sofia. Sofia spent most of her time in the oncology
ward of the hospital where I volunteered. Her days consisted of sterile hospital rooms, scans, and
chemotherapy. She was losing her hair because of chemo when most girls her age were learning
how to braid theirs. She played with a doll (Mr. Buttons) in her hospital room instead of playing
with other children. Sofia wasn't lonely in the traditional sense. Family, friends, and even
strangers visited the little girl, but could barely interact with her. Most of the time, she was too
tired to play and, when she finally mustered the energy, she found herself behind a glass panel.
The doctors thought it best to keep Sofia isolated, to minimize her chances of falling ill in her
already feeble condition. And, indeed, this is how I interacted with Sofia for a month. Week
after week, hour after hour, I'd go to the glass wall to see if she had awoken and would spend an
hour that felt like seconds, playing with her. I suppose that's relativity for you. Sofia was both the
highlight and heartbreak of my week. Comments like, "Poor thing" and "It's just not fair" were
heard as often as the incessant beeping of the monitors. Talk is cheap, and pity doesn't make
progress. I had to do something. It is very rare to come across an opportunity to make a fundamental
change in the lives of thousands. I

My Life-Changing Decision Essay
MY LIFE CHANGING DECISION ROSS BROWN ENGL 1301–270 SUSAN ROBBINS 4/2/2013
It was the beginning of spring about two years ago– a wet and gloomy day. I was thirty two years
old, strung out on meth and homeless. Headed back to prison for the third time, I was faced with
a life changing decision, "do I turn myself in" or "do I keep running and take my chances". It was a
decision that would affect the ones I love the most, my children. As I sat in the woods behind a
run down, drug infested motel, I closed my eyes and all I could see were the tears in my kids eyes
every time they came to see me in prison. The ones that depended on me for love and security, were
now sad and scared...show more content...
They gave me three meals a day and a hard mat to sleep on. They provided transportation and the
opportunity to become stable, if you wanted it. I wanted it bad! It would require a lot of effort
and determination to make it through the system successfully. Not many ex felons make it. They
looked at me as another statistic when I first arrived. You only have a certain amount of time to
get a job and start your recovery. I struggled, nobody wanted to hire a recovering ex con. I was
starting to think I was not going to make it. I was at the end of the dead line, they were wanting
go ahead and send me back to prison. On the very last day the phone rang, it was Bill Orr with
Gym Bleacher Boards. He asked me to come in right away for an interview. I had to get
permission from the job coordinator in order for that to happen. He was not wanting to give me
this last chance at getting a job. Then out of nowhere my case worker, Ms. Woodson, showed up
and said " just give him this one last chance before you send him back". When I arrived at Gym
Bleacher Boards, I was nervous and had mixed emotions about everything. As I sat there waiting
on my interview with Bill, I said a little prayer to myself, " Lord, please let me get this job, not for
me, but for my children". Bill came out of his office and called me in and I was up front about
everything. By the time the interview was over, we were talking as if we had known each other for
years. Then he

We all go through hard times but it is about how you look at them because you can make light in
every situation. It is about how you let those rough times determine the type of person you are

who you will be or what you will do. You cannot dwell on past events because it will only hurt you
in the long run. We need to grow from those type of things because every situation is temporary.
To begin with, my life changing experience was when my parents got into motorcycle accident,
that killed my dad. They were on the way home from a restaurant, on highway two when my dad
passed out on the bike. Both of my parents were thrown off. My dad was thrown into the corn
field and we think he landed on something hard or the impact of being thrown off was too strong.
He had broken multiple bones and went into multiple organ failure, which forced the doctors to
put him into a induced coma. My mom was luckier, she walk away from the accident with just
two broken arms. She was released from the hospital within the first couple days. Secondly, the
accident happened on Friday the 13th, the summer of 2014. I was twelve years old and I talked
to my Dad for the last time ever, the night before the accident. The last thing we said to each other
was, "goodnight and do not let the bedbugs bite, I love you". I saw my mom the day of the
accident, we went to eat but my Dad was working all night. After that, my mom dropped us off at
our cousins for a sleepover so she could meet up with my dad. Later that night, I got a call from a
random number, which I never usually answer random numbers but I had a strong feeling that I
should. When I answered, my parents friend was crying and trying to explain to me that my
parents got into a bad accident, at that point I had to give my cousin the phone because I was a
wreck. After that, we went to Porter Memorial Hospital where my mom was but I would soon find
out my dad was not. I saw my mom that night but not my dad until the day he passed away. I will
never forget the way my parents both

Life Changing Experience Essay
Life Changing Experience
About one year ago I had a life changing experience, a trip to a little town called
Kerry on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. It was the most beautiful place that I have ever seen.
Being in the presence of such beauty helped me see life from a different perspective. I was just
going to be happy, appreciate what I have, be open–minded, not take anything for granted, and love
everyone and everything. When I came back from
Ireland I was truly happy, nothing could make me upset. But after awhile my constant elation came
to a gradual end, but I was soon to find that even though my elation ended I was going to be a
happy, loving, and open–minded person forever. And there was everyday influences like...show more

something they don't appreciate. When I think about those movies I am really happy, because I am
lucky, free, and free to seize any opportunity that comes my way. Art also reminds me of my
happiness, a single piece of art work can capture a moment of emotion or feeling. Artists like Claude
Monet really capture emotion well, in the painting, "The Stroll: Camille Monet", Monet painted
Camille standing in the middle of a field, it sounds simple. But Monet did such a good job that there
seems to be more, there is emotion. That is what makes art special, emotion, and that I can have my
own thoughts about what the artist is trying to say through their painting. In the Edward
Hopper painting, "Route 6" there is a real warm feeling coming from it. That warm feeling is one
of the best emotions that I have experienced, the only other time I get that feeling is when nature is
at it's best (sunsets, sunrises, grassy fields, ect.). That brings me to the artist Liz Sexton, her
paintings of nature are some of the most beautiful, natural, and unique pieces of art that I have ever
seen. I think that I am on of the luckiest people in the world to be able to appreciate this artistic
beauty, that in its self makes me a happy person. The most important influence in my

Personal Narrative: My Life Changing Experiences
Everyone will undergo a life altering experience at some point. It may only change a small aspect
of everyday life, or it may change everything. Sometimes it is a surprise, other times it can be
panned for; either way, no one is ready for the changes that are soon to follow. A lesson is always
taught by these life altering experiences, but not always learned. I realize tragedy is inevitable, I
remember that when I think about cancer taking my best friend, my mother. I was young at the
time, but never young minded! I knew well beyond my years, but I learned more than any teacher
could ever teach me when that awful disease won the battle. My momma was always my favorite
person, my confidant, and ultimately my ride or die....show more content...
On January 20, she received a call that I was on the way; that was not her first rodeo though, she
had already been involved in four other adoptions with my brothers Eddie and Bryan, and my
sisters Candy and Nicole. At the age of 18, after her first born child, she got news that she had a
brain tumor and would soon have undergo surgery. For most, that would have ended dreams
about having a big family, but not her, she saw this as an opportunity to help more people. She
knew children needed a home and she had one to give. That is the type of person she was, if there
was a way to help she would find and pursue it. She had the biggest heart, I have ever had the
privilege of being a part of. My mother had many honorable traits that include: being humble,
honest, and reliable. She gloated of her success or material items or rub it in people's faces nor did
she think she was better than any other soul. My mother was brutally honest, she definitely was not
a person I would want to insult because she had no problem calling someone out in front of a
crowd. She had the ability to make someone feel like they were either on top or completely under the

Life Changing Essays

  • 1. Essay about A Life Changing Event "A Life Changing Event" There are many events that stand out in my life that were significant and helped me grow stronger. One of these events stands out in particular to me and had the greatest impact in my life. When I attended high school my focus was never on the academics but only on sports and having fun with my friends. I never payed attention for more than five seconds and failed to complete any type of work given to me. My lack of care for high school affected me on going to a four year college , playing a sport in college, and taking remedial classes. First off when one's grades are poor it is extremely hard to get into a four year college. I would sit in all of my forty–five minute classes doodling, telling jokes, and just...show more content... The thought of asking any of my teachers for letters of recommendation was not even an option anymore because they knew my personality and work ethic. All throughout high school I was involved in sports. I excelled in football and lacrosse throughout the four years I attended my high school. I had no problem going home studying football plays for hours and looking to make myself better for the next game or practice. I could recite defenses and offenses with no problem, but give me a math problem and it was as if it was in another language. Unlike my teachers I got along with my coaches well and they would be willing to help me get into a good school to further my playing skills. That is in reality only about twenty five percent of what you need to get into college. I lacked the other seventy five percent of doing at least average in academics and being a well rounded student. I had some schools contact me about playing lacrosse at their school but once they had heard I hadn't taken the SAT's yet and that my grades were a little above failing their interest level dropped. I believe that I potentially threw away some opportunities that could have really benefitted me today. Even if I would have payed attention the slightest bit I could have easily achieved B's and C's. I had my priorities mixed up and it really came back to bite me four years down the road. In addition to those two of the many problems a I faced another problem arose quickly. • 2. Reflection On Life Change In My Life We all have life changing events happen in our lives. Sometime it's just a certain moment of a day or maybe sequence of events that happen over a few days. For me i went on i life changing 3 week journey to help find myself and discover how i want to be. I would like to introduce you to the CLP (counselor Leadership program). Here we are trained to become better leaders, Trained to be lifeguards, and go through i life changing experience climbing a 13,000 ft mountain we the new brother and sister you create during the program. Within the first few hours of arriving at CLP you already know everyone's name and hobbies and you are already starting to make connections with these people that you just met. It wasn't easy for me to be able to put myself out there like that. Im was very shy and timid and was always so self aware of we people might think of me if i say the wrong thing. But i was determined to change. I was determined to be more comfortable in my own body and to be more confident. So when it came my turn to introduce myself to the group all i wanted to do was show that i was confident, but i didn't. I talked really soft and was nervous and after it was my turn i was just praying no one was looking at me. All i could think was just how much i failed, but their was one thing keeping me positive and that was that there was nowhere to go but up. I watched for the next 30 minutes. Everyone so freely introducing themselves and showing how confident they are in their own skin. But i soon come to find out that almost everyone there was dealing with the same problem i was, they just didn't show it. The next week and a half we would spend all day lifeguard training. Five hours in the classroom and 5 hours in the water everyday. So being with the same group of people for 10 hours a day, you tend to figure things out about people and really get to know each other. One thing you learn in school is that one lifeguard can't do it all. It takes a team and this team are your peers and after i figured that out i knew i was going to have to get out of my comfort zone and make friends and communicate. It wasn't easy but nothing in life is easy. But slowly and surely i became more comfortable and created 37 new Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Everyone has that one experience that makes them look at life with a new set of eyes. My life changing experience happened a little earlier than most. It was the summer before first grade. We had gotten an exceptional amount of rain in the past months even though it was summer. I did not notice, though, because summer was every six year old's favorite holiday, next to Christmas and their birthday. My summer was supposed to be like any other but it quickly took a turn. For the best or for the worst? That is debatable. June 8th, 2008 was the day my whole life turned upside down. It was a hot and humid Sunday afternoon. My blond, curly headed six year old self was taking a nap on the couch in our living room with a huge window that looked out over our front yard. I used to love to stand at that window during the summer and look at the bustling neighborhood. My mom and little sister were taking a walk around the neighborhood, while my dad was in our garage tinkering with something. Around three o'clock, my mom and sister came running into the house through the front door. This may sound normal but my family always came in through the garage, unless we were in a hurry. My mom woke me up while my sister repeated something that I could not decipher. It took a couple minutes for my brain to register what she had said. She kept repeating, "There's water in the street." My initial thought was that it was raining. My younger self could not grasp the concept of raging waters flowing down a suburban street. So, I jumped off the couch and ran to the giant window in our living room. I peeked through the blinds. From what I could see the neighborhood was completely normal. Then I saw it. Several people from the neighborhood were standing outside on their freshly cut lawns, yelling to each other. My dad heard all of the ruckus so he came in and asked, "What's going on? What's all that outside?" So, my mom turned on the tv to the news channel and sat down on the couch. One of the reporters was standing somewhere that I recognized as the place I had lived in my whole life. Why would they need to come to Columbus? Nothing ever happens in Columbus. I wondered. I asked my mom, "What's going on? Why are those people here?" Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Changes in Life Essay In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it's time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life....show more content... It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong direction. For example, I was almost peer pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and didn't experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky to try to stop change and fight against it, especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head. Maybe the change isn't the best change, but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting a lot of changing to take place. With the support of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me. When the people they care about the most, detach their change as Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A Life Changing Experience Ankit Bhardwaj ENG111–13D Mr. Treanor 10 November 2017 Essay 1 draft 3 A life–changing experience "Everyone thinks that a new place or a new identity will jump fast a new life." – Caroline Leavitt. My story starts in the year 2017 when I decided to follow up on my dream and go to a far–away land, called the United States of America. My journey is full of new surprises and discoveries of a world so different from the one I am leaving behind, with its own beliefs and culture. This is the story of an eighteen–year boy and his first encounter with a new society, his first time away from home and family. It was not an easy decision moving to a different country, leaving behind everything and everybody, but I had the anxiety of traveling and seeing this new world that I had seen only in the movies, the land of Christopher Columbus, where Indians and African–Americans lived unified on a vast territory. I still remember the feeling when my parents said that we are moving to America. It was the time when I felt everything around the world had been stopped, and I did not know what I should do next. I was unable to decide whether life was making me move forward or it would cause me to face more trouble than achievement. I was amazed by looking at the Diversity of people. I knew that there were drastic changes which would be arising in my life which I seemed that it was hard to digest, but it seemed that the USA absorbs everyone in their colors and culture so was I, in the mГ©lange Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Life Changing Choice : Life Changing Choices Life Changing Choices "What are your plans after high school?" This question is asked to seniors more times than they can count. For a lot of students, this question is followed by the answer "I have no idea." There are so many decisions that will change their entire life. They not only have to choose where to live for the next several years, but they also have to decide what they want to do with the rest of their lives. For me, this decision is very daunting. University of Findlay, Franciscan University of Steubenville, and Wright State University are all great schools; however, due to its many opportunities, Wright State is the best fit for me. The financial aspect of college is a big factor in my decision of where to go. University of Findlay has the highest gross cost of tuition and room and board at $43,040 ("Undergraduate Charges"). This number is quite daunting but the amount of merit scholarships offered is very helpful. My brother is currently a student there, and with the help of scholarships and living at home, he should be able to finish undergraduate school without debt (LaFontaine, Ethan). Franciscan University of Steubenville has an annual total cost of $34,370 ("Financial Aid & Costs"). Sadly, there are not as many scholarship opportunities at this university. For my current ACT score and Grade Point Average, I would receive $8,000 per semester ("Student Financial Services"). Wright State University has an annual cost of $30,624 year ("Undergraduate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Life Changing Moments "Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get." (Forrest Gump). Experiences received throughout life are random at best and not knowing which delectable treats are sweet, I brace myself for what may turn out to be life–changing. From these bitter and sweet occurrences, my life constantly reshapes the way I interpret and react to similar situations that arise. Life altering events change my behavior due to the outcome of decisions made, opportunities missed and phone calls received. My trust in salesmen was destroyed after making a decision to buy a used car. Shortly after purchasing a pre–owned Subaru WRX the sound children playing with metal pans came blaring from underneath my car hood. I immediately pulled over to the side of the road with a quick turn of the steering wheel. Calling triple AAA, I had my car towed to the closest auto shop deemed (by an operator located in another state) professional enough to fix my car. The tow truck dropped me off at a little blue–collar auto shop painted bright yellow. I was welcomed by a man that had rough sandpaper hands, stunk of motor oil, and wore a name tag that read Jeff. The mechanic's silver tongue roused my belief in his ability to take care of me and after what felt like days the oily mechanic returned with his findings. "Well Mr. Lovato" Jeff said, "You have a lemon on your hands because the motor is bad." In that moment, I decided to always be skeptical of the truth as a consequence of a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Life Changing Experience A Wonderful Life Changing Experience Kimberly Manuel American InterContinental University Life Changing2 Abstract This essay is a major part of my life, and it means the world to me. So I want to share my experience of me getting married and/or being married. I will be informative with how it came to where I am today of being married and how I have learned from prior mistakes that was made in my life. Driving to the courthouse, I could feel my heart pounding so hard as though it was going to beat right out of my chest. It felt like butterflies fluttering over a breezy meadow. The closer the time got for us to say our sacred vows to each other; my heart felt like a rose blooming endlessly. As I turned to him and the judge pronounced us man and wife, I felt like I was on cloud nine. Our marriage is full of surprises and happiness. The blessings of our marriage began when we were blessed with another son. We learned a true lesson on how to be the best parents that we could be to these boys. I could tell he was scared about being a father. He is a wonderful father to the boys; he loves to go out and shoot basketball, and kick around a soccer ball with them in the yard. He tries to be a decent father figure in their lives. Being able to teach the boys right from wrong is another lesson for us to learn as couple. There are times he has to discipline them for things that they do wrong. We always do our best to work as a team to work out our disagreements. I found for us to work as an effective team, we have to listen to each other's perspectives and find the pros and cons to our disagreement. The present is here, the future is to come with more blessings for our marriage. Every time I look at my husband, he still continues to make Get more content on HelpWriting.net

They live right down the road from my family and me, and that is how they got the title "Grandma and Grandpa down the road". They lived in a small house three bedrooms, one bathroom, and a small living room with a fire place that can worm the coldest heart. And in their back yard stood a shed filled with old farm equipment and stray cats with their kittens that I would try to catch every day. They are now both 78 years old and sadly not very healthy. I have all my pens, papers, notebooks and other miscellaneous items stuffed into my brand new blue book bag. My mother is down stairs on the patio drinking her morning tea watching the world wake up. I gave my brand new shoes a quick shine, checked my hair about three more times each time finding something new wrong. Mother yells at me from down stairs. " You're going to miss the bus!" The bus! I can't believe my ears. I can't show up to high school on my first day by riding the bus. I was scared I needed my mother to drive me to school. Somehow knowing my mother was going to be there part of the way made it a little bit easier...show more content... The first day of high school went over with a blast. My classes were just fine and my teachers were supreme. Everyone was just so nice and friendly. I only cried once when I couldn't find any of my classes. The bell had rung everyone scattered off to his or her assigned rooms, everyone except me. I was stuck in the middle of the courtyard trying to figure out the school mapping system. Frustrated and embarrassed I broke down in tears and ran to the nearest restroom. The day continued from that point on a happy note. I could not wait to get home to tell my mother all about my day. As the dismissal bell rung, I hurried off to find the right bus to go home. I was frightened that I would get on the wrong bus and end up on the other side of town. Uneasy I asked four different people where bus 647 was parked. As I entered the bus I recognized familiar faces of those from my junior high. Some friendly and some not so nice. I took my place in middle of the bus and glanced out the window watching the trees and cars go by. As the bus grew closer to my stop I became more and more giddy with excitement. I could not wait to tell my mother about my new adventure. As soon as the bus was out of sight, I ran all the way home with a huge smile on my face from ear to ear like a Chester cat. As I ran down the street I noticed shattered pieces of glass all over the road and a chunk on the street lawn missing. It looked as if a huge bull dozer rode Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. How Adversity Changed My Life Throughout life, we all become acquainted with life altering experiences, some changing us for the better, others for the worse. It is our job, as individuals, to either learn and develop in the face of these experiences or to dismiss them without looking back. They are what shape our very character, our foundation for the future. Without them, we'd be empty shells, individuals without any substance to guide them. Even though I am still quite young, I've already had quite my fair share of these experiences, and for that I am extremely thankful. Academics, community service and adversity; all have contributed to my development in one shape or another. Without these experiences, I would not be the self that I know myself to be. Nothing is of greater importance. I feel as if adversity has played the greatest role in shaping my character and personality. May it be financial instability, parental problems, or even just plain stress, they have all taught me valuable lessons that I will cherish for years to come. My family has always had trouble, both with financial stability and familial stability. We've never been able to do all of the things that normal families get to do. For example, I don't remember the last time my family went on a genuine vacation, let alone a vacation will all of us together. This also plays a role in our familial instability. We are by no means a close–knit family: we fight every day, we never spend quality time together, and we are always holed up in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or small, sadly many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen evidently in that friend unsure of his future after high school, or that family member who stumbles when asked what they would like to eat, only to order the same thing they have ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to ordering a different meal at your favorite restaurant, everyone will have that important date with change. The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to the door and give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it's happening, and some don't even show up. I am one of those people, emailing that "I just can't make...show more content... Maybe it is a new job, or the promise of seeing old friends. Moving is a perfect example of how pain and change can equal gain. Although difficult to accept, sometimes embracing the odd variation can be rewarding. As a young boy, friends are made quickly, generally without any thought. A Tonka Truck rear–ends another Tonka Truck and within two minutes of sandbox hit and runs a new friend is made. The same cannot be said of High school. Those friends you made in elementary are still your friends when you first enter into high school. But slowly they drift off into the abyss, slipping into with different cliques and before you know it, you are put on the backburner. You feel forced, worried and are fairly sure that rear–ending a grads car will not work. This is yet another perfect example of change, that anyone that's ever been to high school has probably faced. Accepting this sort adjustment will teach you new skills, and a lot about yourself. Making new friends can be hard or easy, depending on how you tackle the problem. Change is simply a tool, it is you who decides what to make with it. As one grows up they may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more rewarding than the last, or that big changes are essential to proper development and progression. An obvious example of maturation is when one releases that they cannot rewrite their beginning, but they can in fact change Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Life Changing Events LIFE CHANGING EVENTS In this essay you had the option to choose a life event that has changed you. But I chose to give a list of events that has made me who I am instead of just one event that changed a little part about me. This essay will show what has happened in my life for me to be the way I am to this day. This is me. First of all there was my grade seven camp. Although I have an unclear recollection of the camp I still remember the important bits. One thing which I know for sure is that I never really wanted to go on the camp. The school teachers and my parents had to force me to go. Two days before the camp started I decided to go. I know that some of the events have changed me for the better and some for worse but what I do know is that it made me wiser. Name: Nada Osama Askar ID: 1610103 Section: 5 A Life–changing Experience Looking at that small building that held too many big memories, I started reminiscing about the past and remembering every little detail. I felt very nostalgic. Everything seemed memorable and remarkable to me: the cracks in the old building that we used to make fun of, the old candy shop that we used to come to at night when we are too tired and too hungry to study, the pushes and the tiny garden we used to sit at and stare at the stars, the roof we used to sneak to in the middle of the night just wandering and talking about everything, and of course the playground where we used to run, play, dance, laugh and cry in under the evening sky, and even the school building and the dark classes looked nice to me. Everything held so many memories of us. • 15. My life changing experience all began on June 3, 2014 when I was a Freshman in high school and things weren't going the best. Struggles through high school are very common but for me I dealt with things I couldn't even handle. I struggled relentlessly all through high school and with my home life as well , but I was never prepared for what happened that summer when I was 14. Growing up everyone argues and fights with their parents, some don't even have functioning relationships with their parents. However for or me, my dad wasn't really around and my mother struggled with addiction. Things began to take a turn for the worst on Mother's' Day, when I had come home from being over my best friend, Paige's house all weekend. I knew that...show more content... Once outside I justified why I left, what occurred that night, and why I was going to continue to stay with Karen. They took me down to the station where I told them about my previous family issues, in which they later agreed to let me go back to Paige's home. The very next day I was sitting in Biology class when I had gotten a text from both Paige and her mom saying all but four words, "everything will be okay". But by that time I knew it wasn't. And this is where my involuntary Foster Care story begins. I was placed into a group home on June 3rd 2014, and that's where my life began to change. One can only imagine how that must feel and as much as I was upset, scared, angry and so on, I tried to keep it contained. I never thought it could ever get to that point, but while I was there I met my foster sister who later became a really close friend, Kerri. As you could imagine when I first got there and even for the following couple of weeks, I was reticent and closed off. I had never been in a situation like this and I just wanted to be with my best friend where i felt safe. Over the course of 7 months, I went through many court dates and a tremendous amount of anguish. I went about 5 months without talking to my mother and it was truly torture some, especially not be able to go home. • 16. Life Changing Experience In Life For many, a life changing moment comes in the form of a tragedy or a hard–earned revelation. Mine came in the form of a five–year–old girl named Sofia. Sofia spent most of her time in the oncology ward of the hospital where I volunteered. Her days consisted of sterile hospital rooms, scans, and chemotherapy. She was losing her hair because of chemo when most girls her age were learning how to braid theirs. She played with a doll (Mr. Buttons) in her hospital room instead of playing with other children. Sofia wasn't lonely in the traditional sense. Family, friends, and even strangers visited the little girl, but could barely interact with her. Most of the time, she was too tired to play and, when she finally mustered the energy, she found herself behind a glass panel. The doctors thought it best to keep Sofia isolated, to minimize her chances of falling ill in her already feeble condition. And, indeed, this is how I interacted with Sofia for a month. Week after week, hour after hour, I'd go to the glass wall to see if she had awoken and would spend an hour that felt like seconds, playing with her. I suppose that's relativity for you. Sofia was both the highlight and heartbreak of my week. Comments like, "Poor thing" and "It's just not fair" were heard as often as the incessant beeping of the monitors. Talk is cheap, and pity doesn't make progress. I had to do something. It is very rare to come across an opportunity to make a fundamental change in the lives of thousands. I was thirty two years old, strung out on meth and homeless. Headed back to prison for the third time, I was faced with a life changing decision, "do I turn myself in" or "do I keep running and take my chances". It was a decision that would affect the ones I love the most, my children. As I sat in the woods behind a run down, drug infested motel, I closed my eyes and all I could see were the tears in my kids eyes every time they came to see me in prison. The ones that depended on me for love and security, were now sad and scared...show more content... They gave me three meals a day and a hard mat to sleep on. Not many ex felons make it. They looked at me as another statistic when I first arrived. You only have a certain amount of time to get a job and start your recovery. I struggled, nobody wanted to hire a recovering ex con. I was starting to think I was not going to make it. I was at the end of the dead line, they were wanting go ahead and send me back to prison. On the very last day the phone rang, it was Bill Orr with Gym Bleacher Boards. He asked me to come in right away for an interview. I had to get permission from the job coordinator in order for that to happen. He was not wanting to give me this last chance at getting a job. Then out of nowhere my case worker, Ms. Woodson, showed up and said " just give him this one last chance before you send him back". When I arrived at Gym Bleacher Boards, I was nervous and had mixed emotions about everything. As I sat there waiting on my interview with Bill, I said a little prayer to myself, " Lord, please let me get this job, not for me, but for my children". Bill came out of his office and called me in and I was up front about everything. By the time the interview was over, we were talking as if we had known each other for years. • 18. We all go through hard times but it is about how you look at them because you can make light in every situation. It is about how you let those rough times determine the type of person you are gonna be when they are over. There is a point in everyone's lives, when their life will completely shift because of some major event that happened to them. That situation does not have to determine who you will be or what you will do. You cannot dwell on past events because it will only hurt you in the long run. We need to grow from those type of things because every situation is temporary. To begin with, my life changing experience was when my parents got into motorcycle accident, that killed my dad. They were on the way home from a restaurant, on highway two when my dad passed out on the bike. Both of my parents were thrown off. My dad was thrown into the corn field and we think he landed on something hard or the impact of being thrown off was too strong. He had broken multiple bones and went into multiple organ failure, which forced the doctors to put him into a induced coma. My mom was luckier, she walk away from the accident with just two broken arms. She was released from the hospital within the first couple days. Secondly, the accident happened on Friday the 13th, the summer of 2014. I was twelve years old and I talked to my Dad for the last time ever, the night before the accident. The last thing we said to each other was, "goodnight and do not let the bedbugs bite, I love you". I saw my mom the day of the accident, we went to eat but my Dad was working all night. After that, my mom dropped us off at our cousins for a sleepover so she could meet up with my dad. Later that night, I got a call from a random number, which I never usually answer random numbers but I had a strong feeling that I should. When I answered, my parents friend was crying and trying to explain to me that my parents got into a bad accident, at that point I had to give my cousin the phone because I was a wreck. After that, we went to Porter Memorial Hospital where my mom was but I would soon find out my dad was not. I saw my mom that night but not my dad until the day he passed away. I will never forget the way my parents both Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Life Changing Experience Essay Life Changing Experience About one year ago I had a life changing experience, a trip to a little town called Kerry on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. It was the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. Being in the presence of such beauty helped me see life from a different perspective. I was just going to be happy, appreciate what I have, be open–minded, not take anything for granted, and love everyone and everything. When I came back from Ireland I was truly happy, nothing could make me upset. But after awhile my constant elation came to a gradual end, but I was soon to find that even though my elation ended I was going to be a happy, loving, and open–minded person forever. When I think about those movies I am really happy, because I am lucky, free, and free to seize any opportunity that comes my way. Art also reminds me of my happiness, a single piece of art work can capture a moment of emotion or feeling. Artists like Claude Monet really capture emotion well, in the painting, "The Stroll: Camille Monet", Monet painted Camille standing in the middle of a field, it sounds simple. But Monet did such a good job that there seems to be more, there is emotion. That is what makes art special, emotion, and that I can have my own thoughts about what the artist is trying to say through their painting. In the Edward Hopper painting, "Route 6" there is a real warm feeling coming from it. That warm feeling is one of the best emotions that I have experienced, the only other time I get that feeling is when nature is at it's best (sunsets, sunrises, grassy fields, ect.). That brings me to the artist Liz Sexton, her paintings of nature are some of the most beautiful, natural, and unique pieces of art that I have ever seen. I think that I am on of the luckiest people in the world to be able to appreciate this artistic beauty, that in its self makes me a happy person. It may only change a small aspect of everyday life, or it may change everything. Sometimes it is a surprise, other times it can be panned for; either way, no one is ready for the changes that are soon to follow. A lesson is always taught by these life altering experiences, but not always learned. I realize tragedy is inevitable, I remember that when I think about cancer taking my best friend, my mother. For most, that would have ended dreams about having a big family, but not her, she saw this as an opportunity to help more people. She knew children needed a home and she had one to give. That is the type of person she was, if there was a way to help she would find and pursue it. She had the biggest heart, I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. My mother had many honorable traits that include: being humble, honest, and reliable. She gloated of her success or material items or rub it in people's faces nor did she think she was better than any other soul.
