Friendly HouseTo Receive Contribution from AT&T Pioneers
Dozens of backpacks filled with school supplies will be provided to Mansfield-area
children in need
MANSFIELD, Ohio (Sept. 21, 2017) — The AT&T Pioneers will be joined by State Senate
President Larry Obhof as it presents 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to Friendly
House Mansfield on Friday, Sept. 22. AT&T employees and retirees are providing the
backpacks and supplies through the work of their Employee Resource Group, the AT&T
Pioneers.
“I commend the AT&T Pioneers for their continued commitment to the Richland County
community,” said President Obhof. “It’s important to make sure all of our children have
the materials and support they need to succeed in school.”
Friendly House, a United Way agency, is a community center that has been serving
Richland County since 1899. Friday’s presentation will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Friendly
House, 380 N. Mulberry Street in Mansfield. This has been the site of the community
center since 1949.
“One of our organization’s objectives is to provide educational programs for the families
in our community,” said Friendly House Executive Director Terry Conard. “The children
who receive these supplies will feel better prepared to learn. We’re pleased to do this
important work with the continued support of individuals, foundations, corporations, and
dedicated groups like the AT&T Pioneers.”
“The AT&T Pioneers are happy to support the good work done at Friendly House,” said
AT&T External Affairs Director Kevin Lynch. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s workforce.
Providing these supplies is one way to encourage them to do their best.”
