Malachi House Cleveland Receives Contribution from AT&T
Pioneers
Funding to help provide services to terminally ill
CLEVELAND, Ohio, Oct. 4, 2016 — AT&T* has made a $5,000 contribution to Malachi
House in an effort to expand the organization’s services geared toward caring for the
terminally ill. The organization was nominated by the AT&T Pioneers to receive the
contribution.
The contribution is part of a special initiative that awards local funding based on the
nominations of AT&T employee groups. The AT&T CARES Special Contribution Program,
established in 2007, gives these groups, with a strong record of volunteerism, the ability
to identify non-profits making a local impact. This year, through the nominations of AT&T
Pioneers chapters, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and international regions, AT&T
plans to provide $255,000 in contributions to local organizations.
“I commend AT&T and the Pioneers for their continued commitment to the Cleveland
community,” said State Representative Bill Patmon. “It’s important that we continue to
work together to ensure that our community’s most vulnerable resident’s continue to
have access to the services that they need.”
Malachi House Cleveland is the only organization in northeast Ohio that provides medical
housing to the poor, filling a tremendous gap in Cuyahoga county’s health and human
services system.
“Our organization strives to serve those in need who are terminally ill,” said Judy Ghazoul
Hilow, Executive Director of Malachi House. “But we couldn’t do this important work
without the continued support of individuals, foundations, and corporations like the
AT&T Pioneers.”
“Since 1998, Malachi House has been committed to serving those in our community who
are most in need,” said Kevin Lynch, director of external affairs at AT&T. “That’s why the
AT&T Pioneers are thrilled to support the Malachi House to make help certain that health
services are made available to this community. ”
The AT&T Pioneers is the world's largest group of industry-specific employees and
retirees dedicated to community service. Pioneers volunteer more than 15 million hours
annually responding to the individual needs of their communities.
