AT&T Boosting Service at University of Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio, March 13, 2017 — As thousands come together to enjoy the March
Madness® First Four® at University of Dayton Arena this week, AT&T1
is keeping the data-
hungry crowds connected. We’re bringing in extra network support so customers can share
every experience and exciting moment with their friends and family
Here’s how. We’re bringing in a Cell On Wheels (COW) to get ready for the large number of
smartphone users in Dayton.
The COW boosts the internet connectivity. The improved coverage will give customers
faster and more reliable connections as the event runs through Wednesday. AT&T will keep
the COW at the University of Dayton through spring commencement to continue providing
added connectivity.
“Events like the NCAA® men’s college basketball tournament are full of moments customers
want to share through texts, pictures, status updates and phone calls,” said AT&T External
Affairs Director Mark Romito. “We’re working to give them great coverage and fast speeds.”

We continue to see increased data usage across
our mobile network, especially at big events. Infact,dataonourmobilenetworkhasincreased
about250,000%since2007,andthemajorityofthattrafficisvideo.
By building out our 4G LTE network, we are laying the foundation for our 5G Evolution, the
next advance in network technologies. We are increasing network speeds and capacity, as
we continue to expand the availability and capacity of our network using the latest
technology.
AT&T invested more than $100 million in our Dayton wireless and wired networks during
2013-2015 and made more than 370 enhancements to our wireless network in
Montgomery and surrounding counties in 2016.
