Zanesville Business Parks Designated as Fiber Ready
Designation reflects presence of fiber-based, high-speed Internet
ZANESVILLE, Ohio (Nov. 2, 2016) — AT&T* is joining Zanesville and Muskingum County
community leaders to announce that the Zanesville-MuskingumCounty Airport Business
Park and Eastpointe Business Park have been designated AT&T Fiber Ready. This
designation is part of AT&T’s continuing efforts to drive economic development and
investment in Ohio.
“Access to reliable high-speed internet is one of the top concerns for job creators seeking to
expand and invest in our communities,” said Ohio State Senator Troy Balderson. “We
applaud this effort to improve accessibility in order to retain and create new, good-paying
jobs in Ohio's 21st Century economy.”
“The Ohio legislature is committed to enacting policies that will drive investments in
innovation and economic development,” said State Representative Brian Hill. “AT&T’s Fiber
Ready designation now makes these business parks more competitive as we work to attract
more companies to southeastern Ohio.”
AT&T has been deploying high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure across Ohio for years. The
AT&T Fiber Ready designation provides a new tool for economic development leaders.
Using it, they can emphasize that fiber-based connections are available at these locations.
“When a business is considering a new location, company leadership often considers more
than roads, water, sewer, gas and electricity. So many of them want to know if there is fiber
available at the site,” said Zanesville-MuskingumCounty Port Authority Executive Director
Matt Abbott. “The AT&T Fiber Ready designation gives us a valuable new tool that can help
us attract more employers to our area.”
