Lakewood
Often billed as The Heights of the West Side, Lakewood
does share much in common with its inner-ring sibling to the
east. A sprawling mix of residential and commercial activity,
interspersed with serene green spaces and bordered by
Lake Erie, Lakewood offers its residents pretty much
everything. The story these days, however, is commercial
development, which has completely transformed Detroit
Avenue and is expected to do the same for Madison Avenue.
The neighborhood’s assets include dining and nightlife,
charming homes, quality education, safe neighborhoods,
easy access to downtown, and an increasingly robust biking
community.
