Teachers can use various audio, visual, and digital technologies in the classroom to engage students and accommodate different learning styles. For example, teachers can use CD players for listening activities, internet radio for educational music and news, overhead and digital projectors to display materials visually, and DVDs and digital video cameras to incorporate video lessons and student projects. When preparing presentations, teachers should determine their topic, conduct research, create an outline, organize information into clear and readable slides with limited text and engaging visuals, practice their speech, and present with confidence while engaging their audience.
2. Audio Technology in Classroom Teachers can use many different types of tech tools in order to help students learn lessons . This also helps students have chances to learn in different ways. This will benefit them since students have varying learning styles. For example students can use a CD player in order to listen to stories, read aloud practice, and to re listen to a lesson if necessary. Another example of incorporating audio technology in the classroom is the internet radio. This offers the students a chance to listen to a wide range of educational things such as music, sports, science , local and national news. They could listen and have to do a project on the subject which they choose to listen to. Here is a link below that teachers could use to find websites containing music that could be turned into a lesson and be educational for the students. http://www.artistshousemusic.org/articles/top+25+web+sites+for+music+education
3. Visual Technology in Classroom Another great technology resource to incorporate in the classroom is visual technology. Most visuals in the classroom today are non-projected objects like photographs, graphs, and models of things. Things that can be used in the classroom visually are things like print materials such as worksheets, bulletin boards to write the information on and other objects. Some visually technology tools are overhead projectors to display things on, digital projectors to project images onto a screen or monitor, document cameras to capture a live video of a paper or object so as not to have to pass something around to the whole class. There are many other tech tools that are available to use in the classroom to enhance the students capacity to learn and they are all very effective in different ways.
4. Digital Video Technology in Classroom Digital video is another type of technology that can be incorporated into the classroom. An example in the DVD. They hold information and are quick and easy to understand how to run. They can fast forward quick and be turned on and off quickly. The teacher can then teach a lesson based off a video. This helps visual learners to understand the material better. Another example would be the digital video camera. They take videos and store them and can be manipulated and edited. They replace the camcorder and are much easier to use and more efficient. Student sin a high school setting could be given a project where they have to make a video and show it to the class. This makes the classroom interactive and keeps their interest. These instruments add a another opportunity to enlarge a students learning ability.
5. Preparing a Presentation Before you start -Figure out what you want your topic to be - Research….ALOT - Make an outline - Organize your Info Creating Powerpoint - Make slides clear and readable - Not to many words on each slide (Short Sweet to the point) - Make them nice to look at(color, font, pictures, ect..)
6. Presenting Presentation Keep your cool! Breathe Make Eye-contact Don’t rush Meet your audience on they’re level of knowledge. Don’t joke too much Don’t mumble Rehearse speech Dress nice HAVE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF!
