The amount of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons from human activity like road traffic has increased tropospheric ozone levels near the ground. Tropospheric ozone forms when sunlight reacts with pollution and can also be created in thunderstorms. It is dangerous to humans, animals and plants as it can cause breathing problems in people and decrease plant growth by damaging leaf cells. Small choices like biking instead of driving or using non-bleached paper and solvent-free paints can help reduce ozone levels and pollution.

2. The amount of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbon
has increased because of the way we live today.
This has led to an increase of the dangerous
ozone in the tropospheric zone.
Tropospheric ozone is the ozone layer closest to
the ground up to 1000 meter.

3. Tropospheric ozone is created when the sunlight
hits the polution from the road traffic. Ozone
can also be created during thunderstorms.

4. Ozone can live long and travel far. It can be
dangerous for humans but also for animals and
plants. The symptoms for humans is irritation in
eyes and throat, some people can get trouble
breathing.

5. Because of the ozone, the growth of the plants
decreases.
The leaves stoma takes up the ozone and can
damage important cells.

6. Think of the enviroment when you do your
daily choises, here are a few tip:
* Take the bicycle instead of the car!
(Do not forget about the safety,
use a helmet!)
* Do not use bleached paper
* Use colours that does not need to be cleaned
with solvent
