1. Interactive media is normally products and services on
digital computer-based systems technology which respond
to the user’s actions by presenting content such as text,
graphics, animation, video, audio, games, etc. Like game
websites and social networking sites.
2. It is worth several billion pounds annually and employs around
43,000 people, representing approximately 22% of the total Creative
Media Industries. Interactive media is not so much a sector as a
discipline, as its creation and use is increasingly becoming part of
everyday activity across all sectors of industry in general.
3. Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging. Registered users can
read and post tweets but unregistered users can only read them. Users access
Twitter through the website interface, SMS, or mobile device app. Twitter Inc.
is based in San Francisco and has offices in New York City, Boston, and San
Antonio. Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey and by July 2006,
the site was launched. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with
500 million registered users in 2012, who posted 340 million tweets per day.
The service also handled 1.6 billion search queries per day Twitter is now one
of the ten most visited websites, and has been described as "the SMS of the
Internet. It’s subsidiaries with Vine Vine is a mobile app owned by Twitter that
enables its users to create and post short video clips. The service was
introduced with a maximum clip length of six seconds.
4. BBC Red Button is a branding used for digital interactive television services
provided by the BBC, and broadcast in the United Kingdom. The services
replaced Ceefax, the BBC's analogue teletext service, and is only available via
digital television receivers. The service was launched in September 1999 as BBC
Text. It was relaunched in November 2001 under the BBCi brand and operated
under this name until late 2008, when it was rebranded as BBC Red Button. The
"red button" name refers to the common interface on remote controls for digital
televisions and set-top boxes, a red button, which launches digital teletext
services.
5. Miniclip is a mobile and online
games company which includes the
website Miniclip.com, which was
launched in 2001 and is known for
having a large and varied collection
of games. It is the world's largest
privately owned online gaming
website. It was started in 2001 by
Robert Small and Tihan Presbie on a
budget of £40,000 and quickly grew.
As of 2008, the company has been
valued at over £200 million, having
been profitable for six of its seven
years, with turnovers exceeding £20
million in the past two years alone.
You can even downloaded game
apps available on the App Store for
iOS and Google Play for Android
from the miniclip sites.The key
people are Robert Small: CEO and
Tihan Presbie: President.
6. Twitter has many users approximately about 554,750,000 many
companies promote their product through twitter as it has many active
users. Celebrities use this as an advantage to promote new music
singles, television programmes and way of fans communicating and
leaving messages to celebrities. Another way Twitter is used by
television programmes on ITV2 such as Only way is Essex or The
Weekender throughout the programme people can Twit messages to the
page and show what they want to say or think what’s happening
throughout the show and on each ad break the voice over will say a few
tweets of random people talking about the show.
Not only talking about other interactive
media I have also shown how they can also
promote for other companies.
