1. FADE IN:
EXT: DETECTIVE GIBSON’S ROAD - MORNING
Detective Gibson sets out to prove his innocence
by finding potential clues on who the actual
criminal might be
DETECTIVE GIBSON
(Mutters to himself)
I’m not going down for something
I didn’t do.
FADE TO:
Starts by knocking on doors in the neighbourhood,
trying to get information from possible eye-
witnesses
FADE TO:
Neighbours aren’t cooperating with him – most
slam the door in his face as they believe he is
behind the crime
INT: DETECTIVE’S HOUSE – STUDY
The detective is typing on his keyboard,
searching for recent kidnapping cases in the area
CUT TO:
(Various cuts to different kidnapping cases in
the area within the past few months – he finds
the kidnapper has history with the town.)
FADE TO:
(Many fades to the detective preparing himself to
stop the kidnapper once and for all. Shows him
getting out his badge, gun, reading a letter from
his previous Chief Inspector commending him for
his outstanding work.)
2. EXT: DIMLY LIT STREET – EVENING
The detective goes to the locations where the
kidnapper has been active previously, having read
up on him
CUT TO:
INT: ABANDONED HOUSE – FINAL LOCATION
(Number of cuts shown in quick succession of him
smashing down doors of abandoned houses/buildings
– no sign of anything that might be linked to the
crimes. The last location, a dilapidated house,
reveals some sickening findings however of bloody
knives, scratch marks on the walls, toe nails
scattered on the floors and muddy footprints
leading to different rooms.)
DETECTIVE GIBSON
(Disgusted and shocked)
What the –
INTERCUT GIRL SCREAMING
The detective quickly rushes in the direction of
the plea for help. He bursts into a dark room
with a dim light bulb swinging wildly from the
ceiling. He looks over to the corner only to see
a small girl tied to a chair, gagged with blood
stains on her t-shirt and dirt all over her face
CUT TO:
(Very quick cuts of the detective rushing over to
help, but at the same time is pushed violently
from behind. He turns to find himself face to
face with the kidnapper, who has a menacing snarl
and a gruesome scar running down the right side
of his face.)
3. KIDNAPPER
(Chuckling sinisterly)
I see you fell for my little trap. Now
no one leaves this house.
CUT TO:
(Fast cuts show the two engaging in physical
violence, not involving any weapons for now, and
as the detective reaches for his gun he is shot
swiftly in the leg by the kidnapper who
anticipated the move.)
KIDNAPPER
Now look what you’ve gone and done.
Successful detective? Bullshit.
DETECTIVE GIBSON
You’re not leaving this house alive, I
swear to God you sick-minded son-of-a-
bitch.
KIDNAPPER
(Smiling with an evil grin)
We both know you wouldn’t do shit.
DETECTIVE GIBSON
(Roaring with anger)
You’ve ruined my life! Now it’s my turn
to ruin yours!
FADE TO:
The two stare at each other with furious looks,
both wielding guns in their hand and sweat
trickling down their temples. Both cock the
safety on their weapons and aim at each other.
Neither ones fate is revealed.
