1. Final Group proposal
A teenager who is constantly being picked on and bullied by pupils in his high school as he
‘doesn’t fit in’. His teachers are being very negative towards his education as he is not very
academic and he is constantly being told that he is a failure and he will never achieve
anything. At home his parents feel that he has let them down their whole life and they are
not supportive of his dreams and ambitions. The only place that he can go to and escape
from the world is when he is skating, he is a very skilled skater and that’s the only place
where his skills can be shown off and he is accepted by the people who surround him there.
Genre; Drama/Coming of Age
Narrative and Themes: The main theme is growing up and being accepted which happens to
most teenagers as they find it hard to fit in and make friends. Another theme is the pursuit
of happiness as harry wants to be accepted for who he is.
