Classroom communication is very important for teaching and learning, as it is the primary means for teachers and students to work together. There are three categories of classroom communication: verbal, nonverbal, and written. Verbal communication refers to what is spoken aloud, while nonverbal communication involves body language. Effective communication helps build relationships, improves student success, and fosters a safe learning environment where students can thrive. It also increases student self-esteem and confidence when their ideas are appreciated. For communication to be effective, there must be a communicator (teacher), a message (knowledge being imparted), and a receiver (students).
