According to the Center for Universal Design,
Universal Design (UD) is “the design of products and
environments to be usable by all people, to the
greatest extent possible, without the need for
adaptation or specialized design”
Design typically focuses on the average person, but
UD seeks to include as many different types of people
as possible
Taking wider variety of people into account oftentimes
benefits others (example: automatic door openers)
