This document discusses innovative uses of whiteboards in education. It describes how whiteboards can be used across various content areas through tools like Smart Boards and interactive whiteboards. These tools allow students to work collaboratively and engage with simulations and online activities. The document provides examples of how whiteboards can be used for subjects like English, social studies, math and science through graphic organizers, simulations, and saving lessons for absent students. It encourages teachers to get training on the various tools available to maximize the potential of whiteboards in their classrooms.
This PowerPoint helps students to consider the concept of infinity.

2. A variety of resources exist to enhance
the use of whiteboards.
These resources can be used in
conjunction with any content area.
3. The whiteboard we are all most
familiar with is the “Smart Board.”
I had no idea that a Smart Board
was a interactive Whiteboard.
Until now………………..
4. The possibilities are endless when it
comes to using the Whiteboard.
It is necessary for teachers to have the
training that is required to implement
these “endless possibilities.”
5. ~Regardless of the content area, the
students have the opportunity to work
collaboratively with one another when
using a Whiteboard.
6. Instead of subjecting you all to “Death by

This video focuses on a Kindergarten class and
how the teacher integrates the Whiteboard in the
classroom.
Most of us in the class are going to be
secondary education teachers, but the ideas
presented in the video can still be used when
tweaked a bit according to age and content area.
7. For my purposes, as a Social Studies
teacher, the idea of using graphic
organizers and Venn diagrams is what
really turned me on.

9. INNOVATIVE USES
FOR MATH & SCIENCE
GIZMOS –Online simulations that power inquiry and
understanding.
i-Maths – Are online interactive math activities for
students and educators.
These tools allow for simulations and exploration by
saving the math manipulatives to a file and manipulating
them on the screen.

listed here!
