I am a free-lance writer and editor in the educational publishing industry, and I have
known Amit for nearly 25 years. On a number of occasions during that time, I have
worked directly for and with Amit on major curriculum development projects in
which Amit has occupied the leading management role. These duties required
management of large teams of people of various disciplines, as well as budgets of
corresponding size.
What has always struck me about Amit is his ability to convey genuine concern and
appreciation to all people on the team—including freelancers like myself. I always
felt that Amit appreciated and valued what I did. This is not an altogether common
trait in an industry that depends heavily on a free-flowing stream of temporary
workers. I believe this ability of Amit to inspire commitment and loyalty among
freelancers is remarkable. I am certain that his management of freelancers has
contributed greatly to the success of many projects. And, I strongly suspect that it is
typical of his overall management style. Amit is a caring person who is genuinely
interested in what you think, what makes you tick, and what you need to succeed.
Again, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts about Amit. I hope my
perspective as someone who has worked with Amit for nearly a quarter century
sheds some additional positive light upon his candidacy.
Sincerely,
Peter T. Lacey
