I have known and worked with Amit since 1994, when we were colleagues at
Prentice Hall. As head of the department, I quickly understood that Amit possessed
exceptional management skills, tremendous energy and drive, and the dedication at
all times to achieve the goals at hand. Accordingly, I promoted him whenever
possible, so that in time he took over the position I held, as we both moved up the
ladder.
Some years later, I moved to Holt, Rinehart & Winston in Austin and hired Amit to
join me there. He opened a Boston office for us, and together we were able to put
Holt at the top of the Social Studies market.
In the years after our time working for major publishing companies, Amit has
participated in two startup companies as well as working for educational services
companies. The later positions require the ability to coordinate, organize, plan,
work to budget—and please the client.
Amit is known throughout the industry for his ability to do all those things. His
network of admirers and supporters is legendary. I cannot imagine anyone better
suited to your organization. Amit’s drive and energy are exceptional; these
qualities, combined with his family’s longstanding focus on education in India, will
only enhance the ability to meet the challenges he will face.
