1. Communities Reflection
Communities:
I think a community is a group of people who are connected.I identify
with a variety of communities such as BISS school, my family, and
the flat classroom project.I enjoy belonging to my school community
the most because I can learn many things and play with my friends.I
think communities are important for people because we can do things
easily by working together and can we will not get lonely.
My Virtual Community:
I was a member of a Flat Classroom Community called Team 2
Language.While working with my community in Edmodo, I learned that
in gymnastics, it involves a lot of flip and skills.I discovered that my
team members and I had commonalities such as gymnastic skills. I
also discovered that we had differences such as liking different foods
and having different hobbies.It was challenging to make a connection,
because we had more differences then same things.
Media Collection:
I collected media to teach my community about languages.
I collected videos that showed Hindi, Thai, Cantonese, and a photo of
a Chinese class.The most important video I shared wasof Chinese
class.It was important because it showed our life and school and my
team could understand how we study.
Voice Thread Presentation:
I explained uploading my media into a VoiceThread presentation. I
enjoyed working with VoiceThread because I can share something with
people from another countries and can learn many things from them.
It was challenging to explain video of Hindi, Thai and Cantonese
because I had to talk about things that weren’t in the video.I think I
explainedChinese class the best because I told my group all about
what are we doing on Chinese class.Next time I use VoiceThread, I
will try to speak more clearly and loudly.
What else?
During this unit I especially enjoyed recording, because I hate
writing, but reading was easy.After this unit, I will continue to share
things tell things to friends because communication makes strong
communities.
