1. Ancient Civilizations Reflection
My Civilization: Ancient Egypt

The Research Journey:
My favorite part of the research journey was planning the hamburger
paragragh because I didn’t know what it was but I got to learn what a
hamburger paragragh is.My best research question was about
architecture because was the easiest to think up and also I didn’t
know much about ancient Egyptian architecture so it was good that I
could learn about it.
While doing my research, I found it difficult to find good books for my
research because I didn’t get a close look at the ancient books on our
classroom book shelf. The most interesting thing I learned about the
structure of society was the different roles of pharaohs and slaves
and how they were treated.I think that the 365 daycalander is an
important legacy of ancient Egypt because we still use it today to
keep track of time.
Report Writing
I am proud of my report because I got all of imformation by
myself. Also I typed every single word of it myself. While writing the
report, I became better at typing, understanding the
paragraghstructure and how to use the computer. If I wrote it again, I
would improve my report by putting a little more detail in it.
Archeology Presentation
I enjoyed making my artifacts because I had never used clay and I
was happy that I could touch clay. I found it difficult to put eye
contact, loud voice and not sweat during my presentation.
I am most proud of my pharaoh mask artifact because it was the
hardest. It was the hardest because I had to use 2 paint colors and to
wait for one whole day for the clay to dry.I enjoyed the archeology
presentation because many people came to see me and, the visiters
looked happy to dig in the sand. While preparing for this
presentation, I became better at having interpersonal intelligence.
What else?
During this unit I especially enjoyed making clay artifacts because I
had never experienced clay before. I took extra time to paint the
artifacts and waited for the clay to be painted. After this unit, I would
like to continue writing reports.
