I learned that while I do a good job in self managing my time in class and at school for my projects, I could work on better communication with my
art teacher. Throughout the trimester I realized that it's okay to ask for help and advice when I'm unsure about my work, even though I think I
might not need to. In additon, time management in terms of balancing time for art projects and academics outside of school is another challenging
area where I could work on practicing. Before Independent art, I never felt like I was challenged enough with the art classes in my older school. I

is the oldest paint medium known to man. Powered minerals, plants or clay were used for pigment and egg yolks were used as a binder. Sometimes,

My bedroom is not a place for the entire community. However, it is just as comfortable to me as someone else's room is just as comfortable to them.
My room is comparably different though. It's not just a place where I keep all my stuff and sleep all day. There's more to my private abode than what

Walking on the hardwood floor feels like a punch to the bottom of your foot. The flooring creaks throughout the house as if it were haunted. However,
it's my private space out of the rest of the world, so overall, it would be worthwhile to cherish it. The blue walls do not take much interest, but the Eiffel
Tower decal and the dark brown trimming brings a bold touch. The room shape is nothing special, just a small and box–like. Dressers and bookshelves
are crammed together from wall to wall. The bed ends up finishing off the room. Having a memory foam mattress isn't hard on any body part, it
cradles the body with every movement. Black and white bedding adds to the decoration of the room, and all my extra pillows and blankets brings a
rainbow to the neutral bedding colors.

Creating Art Is Important In My World
In every corner of the Earth, there's art. In houses, nature, outside. If you don't notice, you aren't looking hard enough. Creating art is extremely
important to me. All types ranging from music, painting, using Prisma colors and more. Art has always been present in my life, but I began to get
serious about it when I visited my Aunt's home last year. I saw my cousin sketching in a small notebook with a black pen. I asked her what she was
doing, and she showed me some pages. It mesmerized me. Her drawings were so flawless, but best of all, they looked like fun. From that day forward,

talent, they practiced. Even Mozart had to practice for over ten years before becoming the musical genius he was. It's not only about practicing for
long periods of time, it's about working on things you're not good at. For example, I usually draw faces, so I can't draw bodies. What I do now is

My Cultural Identity
I'm a 15 year old Latina that haven't yet came across to knowing what my culture identity is. The only thing I know about myself is that I grew up
drawing. Another thing I also know is that I always get mistaken with being a filipino or White. No one really knows what race I am. Only I know

The Contemporary Art of Atomic Vacation by Todd Schorr
Description Atomic Vacation is an outstanding example of contemporary art. The painting was created with acrylic paints on a 6 x 7 foot canvas.
Todd Schorr (American artist) painted Atomic Vacation in 2008 but, did not release it till the art show "Designed for Extinction" where he
showcased his last decade of work. This painting caused a huge controversy with religious groups from the area around the Otis College of Art and
Design in L.A. Todd Schorr is known as one of the best acrylic painters of our time. The way he blends colors, yet making each one stand out shows
in great detail how he has mastered the art of acrylic painting. The color template used for this work was very wide, and that only further shows
how great of an artist Schorr is. He also uses thin, fat, swirly, straight, and curved lines showing his skills of using the lines in a flowing way when it
comes to the family and their camper; however, he also uses jagged lines in the horseman and demons to show a little intimidation. If you look closely
at the ring around the mushroom cloud, you will notice that using a great detail of shadowing, there are demons and monsters swirling in chaos. This

The last medium I dabbled in was watercolors. Watercolor was a type of medium that my grandfather absolutely despised, so he did not do any art

First, like always I worked on the background. I had to put down a base and then work on it next time I met up with my grandfather because it was

I am looking at choose to use watercolor paints on a watercolor paper. Apparently watercolor paper is made with linters or cotton rags unlike how
printer paper is made. Cotton rags are supposedly stronger than wood fibers or linters, as a result the paper is relatively strong. An additional
advantage to using cotton rages is it makes the paper flexible, therefor less likely to rip. If you use older pieces of cotton rages you would be
recycling, which I consider is another advantage. I assume that the artist used watercolor paper that was made a similar way, but I don't know for sure.
Once you choose the material and paint you are using you might start thinking about what you're going to paint and how to make it look the way you
want it to. One way to make your paintings look like how you want is using visual elements. There are several types of visual elements an artist can
use, including line and color. For the painting I am analyzing the artist ended up using the elements value, and texture mostly. The element value refers
to the lightness or darkness of a color. Green has a variety of different values, and the artist utilizes these different values in his watercolor painting. For
the tree leaves, he has a darker green closer to the center of the tree, then a light color or value of green as the leaves branch out farther away from
the center of the tree. As he painted the grass, he made it a different value of green than the trees. I believe that the artist used different values of
green to represent different implied textures. However, since he used values of the same color all the green items in the painting seemed to belong
together. As a result of the different greens there doesn't seem too be one color that sticks out the most, they all seem to be in harmony. Even though

"The Towers of Babylon", by Shirley Ye, consists of 4 watercolour and acrylic paintings, as well as 2 relief sculptures. The abstract (meaning,
relating to reality, however has been distorted to appear unreal) works of the series, speak about the dangers of urbanisation, references to the biblical
tower of Babylon as well as the quote, "the higher you build, the greater you fall" (Edwin Almeida). This artwork as a series, will be the main focus of
this review.
The series mainly comprise of watercolour and acrylic paint (paintings), paper photographs, wood, metal and human figurines (sculptures). The 4
canvas paintings all display a theme of spaced out areas, as well as areas that are tightly packed with layered lines/dots of paint. The sculptures
however, are built to appear tall and unstable for the human figurines that are placed standing close behind one another. In addition, the sculptures
consist of "angled/protruding" photographs of city environments and metal bird cages. Across the six artworks, the tone and colours contrast through
bright, warm tones, to cold and dark shades, possibly to convey both positive and negative aspects of urbanisation, and the reasoning (to find better
jobs, education, etc) behind urbanisation.

Many Americans were determined to recreate themselves in the new land and faith boosted their confidence. After the move west the U.S.

I did my modern masterpiece on Winslow Homer, and I recreated his piece "The Blue Boat." Winslow created many beautiful oil paintings that were
focused around America, and he was able to create some of the most realistic paintings for his time. In his artwork he painted people, nature, and

When I first picked up the book for Winslow, I didn't expect to be inspired by his work. Yet, besides other artists his artwork stuck out to me,
mainly the ones water related. I decided to choose "The Blue Boat," as my modern masterpiece because I felt that it was a combination of his
drawings including people, as well as his drawings of nature and the sea. It was a balance between the types of artwork he created, and my interest in
the sea. When I first brought in the my sketch I thought of using paint, but seeing that Winslow did use watercolor at one point, I decided to go with
that. In the drawing I was going for a more dystopian feel, so i didn't want to dilute the blue too much. I kept a dark tone to the piece and created a
contrast between the dark colors of the top of the page, and the light colors of the bottom of the page. To modernize the piece I added buildings,
smoke stacks and a Mcdonald's sign to the background. The piece shows what could happen if pollution gets out of hand, murky lakes and smoke
filled skies. In the piece I replaced the trees with buildings, and with the buildings I tried to create a visual equilibrium between the two sides of the
