Each person in the group should find at least 2 images (advertisements are great,
contemporary American pictures) that represent the decade or at least seem common to
that time …..5

Each person will read one article in the magazine or other original text from that decade
and summarize. The summary should include 2 ideas or beliefs that are present (explicit
or implied) about lifestyle, people, politics, moral or social issues…..10

Each person should use the history book to locate 2 distinct important events from that
decade. Be able to explain the impact of the event on Americans…..10

Each person should find 2 important authors or literary works from that decade. Identify
the authors; one must be a poet. Include the name and page number of poem from the
literature book, and the title of the other important literary work……10

Create a poster about your decade. Include a timeline, your pictures, and list of writers.
Somewhere indicate what was important to those people. Your poster and results will be
shared with the class in a presentation. The presentation should be dynamic and the
poster aesthetically interesting……15

The summary should include 2 ideas or beliefs that are present (explicit or implied) about lifestyle, people, politics, moral or social issues…..10 Each person should use the history book to locate 2 distinct important events from that decade. Be able to explain the impact of the event on Americans…..10 Each person should find 2 important authors or literary works from that decade. Identify the authors; one must be a poet. Include the name and page number of poem from the literature book, and the title of the other important literary work……10 Create a poster about your decade. Include a timeline, your pictures, and list of writers. Somewhere indicate what was important to those people. Your poster and results will be shared with the class in a presentation.
