From the time of mixing of crystal violet to the time of collection of first data point certain time has already elapsed. During this elapsed time some CV (crystal violet) has already reacted with the OH - present in the solution and thus its concentration is reduced at the time of first data point collection from what it was at the time of mixing.
The reaction involved with OH- is as follows:
CV + + OH - -------> CVOH
Hence the concentration of crystal violet at the time of mixing (preliminary calculations) would be slightly greater than when we begin data collection.
