2. Market Wrap
Nifty remained in a range and closed at 5997 up around 16.65 points.
The major sectoral gainers for the day were Healthcare and Power sectors
which closed up around 0.53% and 0.42% respectively. The loser was
Consumer Durables which closed down around 1.05%.
The WPI based inflation data for the month April came out today which
stood at 4.89% as compared to 5.96% in the previous month. Also the Core
inflation for April stood at 2.8% lower than 3.5% earlier.
The European markets were trading lower ahead of the German investor
confidence data and Euro area industrial production. The US index futures
were also trading lower.
