Land of Destruction
2. Mip and Mop were two rather
pathetic elderly persons who lived
in paper bags - one each. They
shuffled along all day, looking for
objects of interest from rubbish
bins. They had no interests, were
not in possession of any world-
shattering secrets, and had little
ambition beyond a dry place to
sleep that night. They didn’t like
each other much, either, but each
other was all they had.
You can’t start a story that way. Nobody is going to care.
3. OK then.
Mip and Mop were sexy, gregarious 24-year-olds without a care in the world. They lived life to the
full, drifting from party to night-club, spending their parents’ money hand-over-fist. The world was
at their feet -
No, they’re too
perfect. They don’t
have any personality.
Just leave me alone, OK? My story!
Mine, mine mine!
4. Well, one day, when Mip and Mop were out and about,
they fell in a hole --
Which Mip and
Mop? Old or
young?
You decide. Anyway, they fell in a
hole, and they kept falling and
falling, and it was such a long hole
that Mip went to sleep for a while,
but eventually the hole came to a
stop, or they did. Anyway, there was
a hard bit. But it wasn’t that bad, and
at least it was dry, so they got up,
brushed themselves off, and took a
look.
5. Seems they had fallen right out of their own city and into a
place called Land of Destruction. They knew this because of
the sign. Beyond the sign, the place was incomprehensible.
The trees didn’t look like trees, the night clubs didn’t look like
night clubs, and cardboard lean-tos were way too smick.
The Land of Destruction
Maybe we can
find someone that
knows what’s
going on. Or even if they
dont, it’s better
not to know with
company
A door appeared, and around that a wall, and then
door said ‘contacts’ in a commanding voice.
Mip and Mop went inside.
6. Inside was a bloke called Evangelist, a messenger from the Internet.
Evangelist spurred Mip and Mop on a journey to the Celestial City,
where the keys of the internet would be laid at their feet. Evangelist
informed Mip and Mop that they would have to take advantage of any
help they could get, if they wanted to reach the Celestial City.
What was
that about?
No idea.
But look at this
pattern! All the little
bits, the way they join
up to become so
rich and complex!
