3. Aims and Objectives Aim: To provide mobile based GPS for wheelchair users. Objectives: To develop a mobile based GPS within six months to be used by the wheelchair users in London. To attract 20% of the wheelchair users.
4. Scope of the project The aim of the project is to develop the GPS software on Nokia system mobile to provide the navigation aids for the wheelchair users in London. The GPS navigation software must provide all the features of a regular sat navsystem with disabled friendly routes, bus lines and tube lines information. The users should be able to calculate the estimated journey time to the destination. It will also help the users to improve their mobility by providing shortest journey routes. The software should also contain useful information such as disabled parking, accessible accommodation, and other points of interest. PIE the public information exchange company provides the customized services with the information relating to the disabled users. The software will need to connect with the database provided by PIE company that hold the information required for the software. The software need to have GPS map with street level mapping that cover the London area.
