2013 Four Year High School Graduation Rates (%)
The chart above compares
graduation rates of urban
cities within Massachu-
setts with a population of
75,000 or greater.
The data is presented as a
percentage of students who
graduate from a four year
high school and excludes
alternative high schools in
each city except Boston.
The chart compares grad-
uation rate statistics from
FY 2006 to FY 2013. FY
2006 was the first year
that the state collected
four year high school
graduation rates.
As seen in the chart
above, Fall River’s four
year high school
graduation rate has
vastly improved since FY
2006 when the graduate
rate was 56%. As of FY
2013 the graduation rate
has increased to 85% in-
dicating a significant
improvement over the 7
year period. This means
that Fall River not only
has the highest four year
graduation rate among
urban cities with
populations greater than
75,000 in Massachusetts,
but has also achieved one
of the highest improve-
ment score among com-
parable cities.
Congratulations to stu-
dents, educators and staff
at Durfee High School for
a job well done!
