2. The definition of religion…God will bless you…maybe…if
you obey. (Doug Bishop)
3. 2Cor 1:18-20
18 But as surely as God is faithful, our message to
you is not “Yes” and “No.” 19 For the Son of God,
Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—
by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and
“No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” 20 For no
matter how many promises God has made, they are
“Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is
spoken by us to the glory of God.
4. What is “fallen from grace?”
It is not sinning
It is putting yourself back under rules and
regulations (religion- a set of do’s and don’t’s to be
blessed and righteous)
5. Gal 5:1-4: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by
which Christ has made us free, and do not be
entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I,
Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised,
Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again
to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a
debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become
estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be
justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
6. Christ not only shed His blood for the
forgiveness of sins,
He hung on the cross to redeem us from the
curse that came with it
7. Gal: 3:10-14 For as many as are of the works of the
law are under the curse; for it is written,“Cursed is
everyone who does not continue in all things which are
written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11 But that
no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is
evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”12 Yet the law is
not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by
them.”
8. 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the
law, having become a curse for us (for it is written,
“Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that
the blessing of Abraham might come upon the
Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
9. Deut 28:15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do
not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to
observe carefully all His commandments and His
statutes which I command you today, that all these
curses will come upon you and overtake you:
10. Deut 28:60-61
“Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases
of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling
to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague,
which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the
Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed.”
You have been redeemed from every plague and
sickness!
11. Deut 28:28-29
“The Lord will strike you with madness and
blindness and confusion of heart. 29 And you shall
grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in
darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways…”
Jesus hung on the cross and there was a great
darkness at noonday.
12. Deut 28:30
“You shall betroth a wife, but another man shall lie
with her; you shall build a house, but you shall not
dwell in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but shall not
gather its grapes.
You have been redeemed from every form of
breakdown in marriage and family life.
13. Deut 28:38-40
“You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather
little in, for the locust shall consume it. 39 You shall plant
vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the
wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory,
but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your
olives shall drop off.
Grain, wine, oil are crops that symbolize the
blessing of Jesus.
You will no longer work hard with little gain!
14. Deut 28:41
You shall beget sons and daughters, but they shall not
be yours; for they shall go into captivity.
Your children will no longer be captive by
addictions, gangs, hard labor, etc. You will
enjoy your children!
15. Psalm 105:37
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and
there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
