1. Bulls on fire; Sensex crosses 22300 for the first time ever

Indian indices started the F&O expiry day with flat trades on the back of soft global cues. Subsequently, markets
gained momentum to continue the stint of creating new records with each passing day. Sensex and Nifty notched new
life-time highs at 22307.74 and 6673.95 respectively. Shrugging off the negative European opening, benchmarks
remained in green zone and ended there with Sensex gaining 119 points at the close. On BSE sectorial front,
Consumer Durable was the top gainer.
Among global peers, US indices slipped on resurfacing Ukraine worries after Obama warned the international
community against adopting a complacent attitude toward Russia. Asian and European indices were mostly trading
lower.
Back home, on currency front, Rupee pared some gains of previous sessions' against Dollar as RBI reportedly
purchased Dollar from state banks to curb the further gains in domestic currency. In futures trades, INR hit an intra-day
high of 60.48/USD and an intra-day low of 60.66/USD. In spot trades, INR hit an intra-day high of 60.1/USD and an
intra-day low of 60.26/USD. As per RBI reference rate, INR stood at 60.12/USD. (Read More)
On stock specific front, country’s private sector giant, Reliance Industries (RIL) gained 1.35% as Ministry of
Energy (MOE) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar selected the company for two offshore blocks (M17 and M18)

Talwalkars Better Value Fitness soared 8.75% to mark 52 week high at Rs 182 on BSE as UK’s health and fitness
group, The David Lloyd, is reportedly planning to buy 20% stake in the company and has begun talks with the

The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1723 and 1173 respectively,
while 173 scrips remained unmoved.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 22214.37, up 119.07 points or 0.54%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 22307.74 and 22094.29 respectively. 20 stocks advanced against 9 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 40.35 points or 0.61% to settle at 6641.75. The index touched high and low of 6673.95 and
6599.50 respectively. 35 stocks advanced against 14 declining ones on the index.
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 6909.67 and gained 0.61% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
0.99% to 6916.50.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 8170.73 (up 0.64%) and CNX 500 index rose to 5146.20 (up 0.62%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX gained 3.38% at 18.37 from its previous close of 17.77 on Wednesday.
Sectors in action
On the BSE Sectorial front, Consumer Durables (up 1.46%), Oil & Gas (up 1.28%) and Real Estate (up 1.06%) were
the top gainers.
Healthcare (down 0.81%), Information Technology (down 0.10%) and Metals (down 0.03%) were the top losers.
The Angels and the Devils
State Bank of India (up 4.04%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 4.00%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 3.11%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up
1.75%) and NTPC Ltd (up 1.74%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Dr. Reddys Laboratories Ltd (down 1.86%), Sesa Sterlite Ltd (down 1.26%), Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.10%), Sun
Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (down 1.00%) and Infosys Ltd (down 0.50%) were the top losers on the Sensex.

2. Benchmark Drivers
State Bank of India (25.48 points), Reliance Industries Ltd (24.64 points), Bharti Airtel Ltd (19.39 points), Housing
Development Finance Corporation Ltd (14.69 points) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd (10.16 points) were the major Sensex
drivers today.
On the other end State Bank of India (6.20 points), Bharti Airtel Ltd (4.93 points), Reliance Industries Ltd (4.92 points),
Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (3.74 points) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (2.83 points)
were the major Nifty movers today.
Pivot, Supports and Resistance Levels
CNX Nifty is now pivoted at 6638 for next session. The next support is at 6603 and on upside it has a resistance at
6677 levels.
