Fiskars has been in existence for over three hundred sixty years and was
established in the year 1649. It is the oldest company in Finland. This said company
had a groundbreaking product and was looking to make a bold move in order to
ground its status. I was said in the article that crafts and hobbies is an industry that
is worth thirty billion dollars. Fiskars decided to focus on devolving connections
with their costumers. Brains on Fire were hired in order to come up with a plan. The
company hired four women to be “The Fiskateers”. Their job was to spread
awareness of the brand to friends, family and acquaintances. They were only part
time but encouraged to travel around the country in order t build relationships with
storeowners, tradeshow host, and hobbyists.
The Fiskateers set up blogs to handle customer questions and to gather
feedback on the product. Fiskars network built a very strong sense of community.
The sales of the company increased by over three hundred percent and came up
with a high number of new product ideas. This company is a great example of a
classic social media marketing success. Social media is the best way in today’s world
to increase sales, please customers, and build relationships in the business world.
