- 3. First Congregational has been around for a long time! The first church in Rochester, we began in a log cabin in 1827.
- 4. But we’re still looking forward to the future! This is our new sanctuary, finished in 2009. We worship every Sunday at 10 AM.
- 5. We’re a part of the United Church of Christ. We believe that God in Christ has an extravagant Welcome for all people, and so should we. The U.C.C.’s historical roots go all the way back to the Pilgrims. We believe that God is still speaking.
- 6. We love music! The picture below is from our spring Musical, “Experiencing God!” You’ve also been listening to our Christian Rock Group CrossWords. There’s something for everyone in our worship and music: choral, rock, brass, and bells!
- 7. Kids ‘R Us Too! Just like Jesus said, “let the children come…” Every Sunday is a kids day with Church School at 10:15 AM plus Music, Art, Drama and Dance after worship, at 11 – 11:30. Youth Fellowships also meet on Sundays after 11 AM.
- 8. Come on by on Sunday morning! Our Worship is at 10 AM MADD Arts for Kids And Youth Groups begins at 11 Children’s Church School is at 10:15
- 9. Jesus fed the hungry. It’s our mission too. We’re trying you ever gone hungry? Have to do our part as his disciples. First Congregational has had a food pantry since 1967. 2000 families will be assisted this year.
- 10. Advertisement Alert!! People in the community need our help! If you can, would you donate food? •Tuna •Cereal •Spaghetti O’s •Canned Fruit •Canned Vegetables Bring it to the Church at 1315 N. Pine Street. A family surely will be grateful!
