1. Outline the key difference between the civil law system and the common law system.
2. What system of law operates in the United Kingdom?
3. Outline and explain each of the sources of English law.
4. Explain the doctrine of judicial precedent.

1. What system of law operates in your country of origin and how is this system of law
different to the English legal system? (You will be presenting this during the seminar
next week.)
2. Add to your glossary of legal terms any new terms that you have learnt this week.
