22 The Lord hates people who tell lies,
but He is pleased with those who tell
the truth.

8 Then the man and his wife heard the
sound of the LORD God as he was
walking in the garden in the cool of the
day, and they hid from the LORD God
among the trees of the garden.
9 But the LORD God called to the man,
“Where are you?”

garden, and I was afraid because I was
naked; so I hid.”
5. 11 And he said, “Who told you that you
were naked? Have you eaten from
the tree that I commanded you not to
eat from?”
12 The man said, “The woman you put
here with me—she gave me some
fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel,
“Let’s go out to the field.” While they
were in the field, Cain attacked his
brother Abel and killed him.
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where
is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,”
he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

11 As he was about to enter Egypt, he
said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a
beautiful woman you are.
12 When the Egyptians see you, they will
say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill
me but will let you live.
13 Say you are my sister, so that I will be
treated well for your sake and my life
will be spared because of you.”
8. 4. Ananias and Sapphira to the
Holy Spirit (Acts 5)
1 Now a man named Ananias, together
with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece
of property.
2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept
back part of the money for himself, but
brought the rest and put it at the
apostles’ feet.
9. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that
Satan has so filled your heart that you
have lied to the Holy Spirit and have
kept for yourself some of the money
you received for the land?
4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was
sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the
money at your disposal? What made
you think of doing such a thing? You
have not lied just to human beings but
to God.”
10. Lie is a false statement made with
deliberate intent to deceive, an
intentional untruth, a falsehood,
dishonesty.
11. Lying is a direct assault to the Lord
for it is against His very nature.
14. John 8:40-44
40 As it is, you are looking for a way to
kill Me, a man who has told you the
truth that I heard from God. Abraham
did not do such things.
41 You are doing the works of your
own father.” “We are not illegitimate
children,” they protested. “The only
Father we have is God himself.”
15. John 8:40-44
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were
your Father, you would love Me, for I
have come here from God. I have not
come on my own; God sent me.
43 Why is my language not clear to
you? Because you are unable to hear
what I say.
16. John 8:40-44
44 You belong to your father, the
devil, and you want to carry out your
father’s desires. He was a murderer
from the beginning, not holding to
the truth, for there is no truth in him.
When he lies, he speaks his native
language, for he is a liar and the
father of lies.
21. 2 cor. 10:3-5
3 For though we live in the world, we
do not wage war as the world does.
4 The weapons we fight with are not
the weapons of the world. On the
contrary, they have divine power to
demolish strongholds.
5 We demolish arguments and every
pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take
captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true, whatever is noble,
whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such
things.
29. John 8:31-32
31 To the Jews who had believed him,
Jesus said, “If you hold to my
teaching, you are really my disciples.
32 Then you will know the truth, and
the truth will set you free.”
