5. To create my own pop music magazine contents page I intend to repeat (Steve Neale –
1980) the top charts section which shows you what music is popular right now, this is so
my readers can listen to the latest songs and know what they are. Also, I intend to
repeat (Steve Neale – 1980) the secondary images used on the contents page as this
element gives the reader an insight into what is to come in the magazine and so will
make them want to read on. I will use star appeal (Richard Dyer) to draw the readers in
as they will want to read about a popular star they know. Furthermore, I will use the
bold, bright colours throughout my magazine so that it has a consistent theme and is
eye catching.
To create my double page spread in my pop music magazine, I intend to repeat (Steve
Neale – 1980) the variation in font styles, because this gives it a more interesting look.
Also, I intend to repeat (Steve Neale – 1980) the bold, bright colours as this makes the
pages eye catching and makes the reader want to look at the page. Finally, I would like
to repeat (Steve Neale – 1980) the use of a main image, this allows the reader to
know who and what the story is about without having to read it, this will encourage
the reader to indulge in the story as they want to find out more. If the image is of a
current popular pop star then the image and story will appeal to the target audience.
